As for myself I'm a big fan of stuff like Chuck Berry, Elvis, the Beatles, the Stones, the Allman Brothers. I love the Motown sound of the 1960's I think there's some genius stuff there. I'm not a big fan of country music or at least country music today(thought they have the best looking women

In my attempt to get to know my fellow posters here I'd like to ask everyone what their musical tastes are. Do you like country? Rock? Rap? Disney? The last one I think we know the answer to.

) but play anything by Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings and I'm there. Rap can't stand like 95% of it. However, I can recogonize good work when I hear it and the rap acts that I've liked over the years include Run-DMC, Dr. Dre, Outkast and the Beastie Boys, who maybe one of my favorite groups ever. I'm also a fan Metallica though once again their newer material doesn't do too much for me. But then I'm also the type of person who enjoys Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. So I have a pretty ecletic taste in music. Oh and as far as I'm concerned pop radio today is just bad, bad singing, bad songs and bad music.

Youre musical tastes are absolutely superb. Some of my favorite artists as well. You just need a little more blues to complement it. My top 10.
1. John Lee Hooker
2. Eric Clapton
3. Rolling Stones
4. Robert Johnson
5. Chuck Berry
6. Muddy Waters
7. Cheap Trick
8. Tom Petty
9. Taj Mahal
10. Woody Guthrie
Led Zepplin, The Beattles, Steve Miller, the Who, Elvis and Bruce Springsteen just miss the mark.
Favority female artist: Joan Jett
As far as county either Hank Sr or Jr, Steve Earle or Johnny Cash.
Rap - the only thing I like is Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff but for the humour not the music.
Love Raggae and Folk but have never gotten into Jazz aside from Louis Armstrong. Never a big fan of motown. Just too much going on at once. Look at what Phil Spector did to Let it Be. Totally ruined it by adding too much.
As far as albums best I have are Robert Johnson complete recordings, Layla by Derek and the Dominoes, Beggars Banquet by the Rolling Stones, Original Modern Recordings by John Lee Hooker and Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys.
Songs Layla, Sympathy for the Devil, Crossroad Blues, Boogie Chillun are among my favorites.
And you can see my CD collection by the link below. It used to be a lot bigger but I had to weed it down now that I am married with a kid. No more time to listen to it all.
Son - aside from Buffett we don't listen to much in common
