What is your favorite FOX animated show?
What is your favorite FOX animated show?
1. The Simpsons
Being a fan of the Simpsons when it first came out back in 1989 and I still enjoy watching Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie on Sundays.
I guess The Simpsons is the family you like to watch but hate to be like.
I guess the only reason why The Simpsons last so long on Fox is because no other show could still be popular after 15 years.
I wonder if The Simpsons will get a spin-off ever.
2. Futurama
Yes, I love to watch Futurama also but sad to see it go so early it only lasted 5 seasons on Fox. I really thought it wasn't Futurama fault I really believe it's Fox's fault since they moved it to Sunday at 7 pm and it got killed at that time slot. Anyways I love to watch the reruns of the show and hoping that Fox will give it another chance. It's also was made by the creator of The Simpsons. I really see Fry, Leela and Bender funny!!!
Matt Groening rocks at making animated shows.
3. Family Guy
Well, Family Guy also left Fox to early and since it went to Cartoon Network the ratings were high and the DVD of Family Guy was number one last year. So Family Guy will have new episodes on Cartoon Network!!
I really see this show as a copycat of The Simpsons. But it's funny to see what the Griffin family is up to everyday.
4. King of the Hill
I really don't like to watch King of the Hill but when I do it teaches me so valuable lessons. I really like this show a little because it's not always funny. I guess it's only me I really like the Hill family and my favorite character would be Dale since he's really funny.
5. The Critic
"It stinks"!!!! I really never like this show. I saw it when it came out in 1994 and it only lasted like two seasons. Even Fox made a crossover with The Simpsons and it still failed. Jay Sherman you really stink!!!
Well I guess Fox is making money off of all of these animated shows since they have season set available now. What a long way to go for The Simpsons 16 seasons so 13 more seasons to go. Even Family Guy was number one I guess people prefer to buy the DVD then to watch the show. Anyways just vote and write down your top 5 and why you like the shows.

My favorite is Futurama. What a funny series that was and what an excelent animation (I love the 3D bits they did in numerous episodes). Such a shame that it got canceled.
Fortunatly I now own all 4 seasons on DVD. Hooray for region 2!
I used to love The Simpsons but boy did that series take a nose-dive after season 9! I really cannot watch the new seasons and enjoy them. The makers wrecked everything that was funny about this series. I hope that they can get the old writers back and deliver one more good season and then just finish the series. They should have just stopped after season 9 or 10. My € 0.02..
I really like Family Guy. It isn't broadcasted here in The Netherlands but I bought season 1 on DVD and I loved every minute of it. This is what The Simpsons should be.

I've been watching the Simpsons with my family ever since I was young, it's great! The Simpsons is definatly my favorite!
The great thing about the Simpsons, is that it can evolve with time, and add in new movies and such(ex: the Simon Cowell edisode). I could see the Simpsons sticking around for another 10 years, even! The Simpsons is great how it can have inside jokes about movies and what not(ex: Once a jewel on a girl's hand started blinking and she exclaimed, "No! I'm only 25!" [Logan's Run])
Yes, Simpsons is great...just talking about it makes me want to go watch some episodes.

Well let's see here....
1. Futurama. I know, I know... I should have picked either Simpsons or Family Guy, but I just can't get over the stupidity of Fox canelling this awesome show. It had almost everything that the Simpsons had plus more and was hilarious. I caught this show when I could (7:00 if memory serves) and hope the rumours of the Cartoon Network restarting Futurama turn out to be true. Help Futurama get back on the air, BUY THE DVDS AND WATCH THE RERUNS! I voted for Futurama.
2. The Simpsons. The one that started it all. While it was going down the drain a few years ago, probably because of Groening's time going to Futurama, it has got it's mojo back. The first 6/7 seasons are the best and actually had a storyline and meaning, the Simpsons has become all about sucking out as many laughs as possible. It has changed over the years but the Simpsons remains the grandaddy of em all and is worth your time when flipping channels. (Almost like Survivor) Even though there's no end in sight, I think that unless something drastic happen over the next few years with the show, it could very well end by 2010. I personally hope Fox doesn't suck every last bit out of it and just simply let the show end when Groening wants it to (At least Matt's not at Lucas' stage in life yet). A pure classic.... for the time being.
3. King of the Hill. That was tough. I always used to watch Futurama and KOTH while eagerly awaiting the next Simpsons on LOL Sundays. It reminds me alot like classic Simpsons. Each show has a reason/meaning to it and you can't beat it's realistic style animation. I definitely like KOTH much better than Judge's previous work on Beavis and Butthead. It's still churning out thought out, good stories and is becoming a quick classic. I'm just wondering when Fox'll out out the 3rd season on DVD, originally for Spring 2004.
4. Family Guy. Yea, it's low. I never really got into this show on it's intial run nor on the DVDs. It worth a good laugh when I'm feeling down, but it never really reached the same point as Simpsons, or KOTH. I'll definitely be looking out for the new shows in Spring/Summer 2005. Who couldn't love Stewie. I think MacFarlane put an original twist on something that had been done, and I like the show. Can't wait to see what Seth's "spinoff" series, American Dad (see my avatar), will be like in January. Hope it outdoes Family Guy like Futurama did to Simpsons.
5. The Critic. It was only on Fox for it's last season after being tossed by ABC. I got the DVD and have only watched about half of the episodes. I definitely like the first seasons over the latter 2 when Jay got more rounded and family-like. About the crossover Simpsons episode, as former producers of The Simpsons created The Critic, I know Matt Groening disapproved wholely on the whole thing and even had his name removed from the end credits - cool thing to look out for in the next time it's reran. The Critic could've used a lot of stuff to make it better and I can't help but wonder if we'll ever see more of those webisodes/ or even a show renewal on the Cartoon Network (along with Dilbert, please!).
Well for now that's my list. Please, FOX, bring back Futurama! I know I'm not the only one who wants this to happen. Make sure to go visit Can't get enough Futurama!: http://www.gotfuturma.com and support a renewal of this amazingly funny show. Cartoon Network - help bring it back, with all your might! PLEASE!!!!! -rant over
I bid you all a fond farewell, adieu.

Definitely The Simpsons. I'm a Simpsons freak!
Here's my top 5 (spaces show the gap in quality b/w them, imo)....
1. The Simpsons - Duh.
2. King Of The Hill - Its dry humor is hilarious, and I can't get enough. It doesn't have The Simpsons' charm, though.
3. The Family Guy - I agree with MMP. For some reason, it strikes me as very similar to The Simpsons, though I can't put my finger on why. It's still funny, though, but overrated.
4. Futurama (at a distant 4th) - Blah. I chuckled here and there, but never got into it, and probbaly only saw 8 episodes in total.
5. The Critic (only b/c there has to be a 5th) - Saw it once or twice, totally forgettable. In fact, I had forgotten about it until now.

I voted for Family Guy. Funniest show out of the bunch by far and its not a Simpsons rip off in any way. I was a huge Simpsons fan, but its just been on for too long and has lost its edge. I'd rather have seen Futurama stay on the air, it was still excellent.
King of the Hill was a good show too, there WAS something wrong with that boy! The Critic was okay, but was my least favorite out of the bunch.

I voted for The Simpsons, because of its vast originality and influence as the longest-running animated sitcom. It will always have a special place in my heart and funnybone. However, I must also give props to Family Guy, for EACH of its episodes are hilarious and I don't believe there's ever been a show with more laugh-out-loud hysterical moments. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD, and I can't wait for Season 4, which airs next January on Cartoon Network.
P.S. Maerj, I must ask, where in the heck did you get that Mickey Mouse/Star Wars plush, in less it's fake.
I love it!

They made 3000 of them for this years Star Wars Disney Weekends at the Disney MGM Studios. They also had t-shirts, posters and other items of the original Star Wars movie poster with Mickey and Minnie standing in for Luke and Leia.Sulley wrote:

Gotta love family guy:) But it's pretty much a tie with Futurama
In the middle is Simpsons, but it's on so often I've kinda gotten bored with it.
Finally there is the Critic and King of the Hill and these are a tie too. I love them both; but have only bought the dvd of the critic so I guess that says something. Besides DT the Drunken Terrestrial was great

I think that the Simpsons is the greates of all those shows in its originallity and culture. There are many different levels to watch the Simpsons on, you can watch just at face value, understanding the jokes and references or somewhere in between.
I also enjoy watching Futurama and Familly Guy. Family Guy will be comming bakc to Fox next year.
