I don't hate the cover that much; its no better or worse than the other Diamonds. I like the twist of having the title in a different place, but wouldnt it have been better if the letters went down, instead of being totally sideways ? So it could have been :
B
A
M
B
I
That would have been cooler I think. Mind you, its not as if there are a whole bunch of deer focused movies that this can get confused with ... If you just had Bambi's face, with nothing else, people would know what movie it was I reckon.
Still, no excuse for Disney's design department to come out with a cover like this though.
Quite an interesting cover choice.. I can't say I see the aesthetic appeal the designer did. I had bizarre (and somewhat nerdy) dream last night where Aladdin had been released on blu-ray with a similar cover. It was pretty disheartening

The Cover looks so much nicer than that of the original Bambi.
That's just unfair. They're releasing the Bambi sequel on Blu-ray but they couldn't re-release the two BatB sequels not even on DVD? I want to complete my trilogy damnit.
TheSequelOfDisney wrote:^ That looks fan-made to me. Plus, it's supposed to be II in the title, not 2. It looks suspicious to me.
Only in the US, in Europe it's "Bambi 2" and I found this Cover on a big swiss Online Shop. The other listed Bambi covers are real, so I assume this is as well.

The first cover looks really good and neat! The second cover looks like it could be used for Bambi 1 as well
Wow! That's a gorgeous cover for Bambi 2. And it's a Special Edition huh? Well the Special Editions from Disney these days seem to be slap the same features on and add a remote control game so I wont be surprise if that turns out to be the case here.
Do I dare double dip on a Disney sequel? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
By the way...I dont know if anyone has noticed this but according to the Amazon site...the combo pack is only consisting of two discs yet the standard DVD release will be a 2 disc. Which means this could be the only Diamoned Edition so far with only one Blu Ray disc instead of two.
I'm really confused here. Is the Diamond Edition gonna be a 2 disc Blu Ray with a DVD or is it a 2 disc consisting of one Blu Ray and one DVD?
The Blu-ray combo is down to $24.99 with the $10 coupon at Amazon right now for those that haven't preordered yet. I actually wasn't planning to upgrade this title to Blu, but for $15 its hard to say no.

Did Bambi get a 2-disc Platinum? It seemed like one of the sparsest.
I'm going to bet this is the first example of the Diamonds decline so omnipresent throughout the Platinum age after the whores Snow White and Beauty and the Beast had retreated back to the brothel known as the Disney Vault.
I am REALLY suprised that Bambi 2 is getting a Blu-Ray release, though I can understand why Disney are choosing to release this and didn't release the Beauty and the Beast sequels as Bambi 2's animation is far superior. I would quite possibly consider double-dipping on it, the only other animated sequels I would consider re-purchasing on Blu-Ray would be The Little Mermaid sequels, The Lion King sequels and Cinderella: A Twist in Time other than those I'm fine sticking to DVD
