Update on...me!

Post by blackcauldron85 »

I so didn't want to make a thread all about me, but I figured that I might as well.

I haven't been posting here much lately, due to just not having the time (I'm finding myself in the mornings either reading Disney news and not having time to post any here, or reading UD and not having time to look up new news). Work is going well, but I obviously don't have the time that I did when I was jobless. Also, I'm getting a divorce. We still haven't finished filling out all the paperwork, but I'm moving out on Sunday with Oliver, the dog that I adopted myself. Bobby is keeping Harry and Sally, and the house (I can't afford the house). Earlier in the week, I put the deposit down on an apartment, and I said that I could move in Sunday, since I don't have work, and most people seem to have Sundays off. But, I should have said I could move in sooner, so I could've started moving things in in the meantime.

I've been having all different feelings the past couple of weeks, but right now I'm just so ready to move on with my life. Other aspects of my life are going great, and it's not fair to me to stay in a situation that is bringing me down and has been for years. The apartment has free wi-fi, so I'm glad I'll have the internet, and maybe once I'm moved in, I'll be able to spend more time here on UD and reading Disney news (and sharing it with you all!).

Thanks to those of you who have been my Dr. Phils...all of your advice and comfort and support has been amazing. <3

Oh, and I haven't told my parents yet...I think I might write them a letter. :shifty:

Harry and Sally are dogs, disneyboy. :P

And Ames, I'm in the chat room with Dave if you need a couple Dr. Phils. Granted, I wasn't as Phil-ly as others...

Somehow I knew what this thread was going to be about before I clicked on it. Based on what you've said before about your situation, I believe this is for the best. It can't be an easy but I know you'll be fine. Take care of yourself and let me know if you ever need to talk. Image

I'm happy that you've finally worked things out, and I'm sure whatever decisions you make will be good.

I'm sorry about the divorce, but based on our talks and such, I think it's for the best.

Good luck, Ames! :)

Dear Amy,

I know I have only the chat room to base my impressions on, but I think this was the right decision for you. I believe it will take you out of an unhappy situation and will enable you to move on with your life. Of course it's never easy to take such a big step and close such an important chapter of your life. Still, my estimate is that it's for the best and that it will make you a stronger person.

You mentioned moving in an apartment? Is this where the coworker lives who you mentioned in the chat room? The one who offered you to stay with her?

didn't know she was even married. Man, girls nowadays look younger than they really are.

Amy, I've always enjoyed reading your posts and getting to know you a bit on here, and you've always come across as one of my favorite posters on here, just a great person to interact with and so friendly to others :)

From what I recall/remember in the past of what you've shared on here about your relationship and such, it seems for the best. I'm certain it is a challenging time for you, but it also seems great that you are going to be moving on in your life. Remember that you'll make it through, and I hope that your future is full of great things and experiences. Even though I don't post as much as some others on here, please feel free to chat/pm me anytime, even if you just need someone to talk to or to talk about random things like Return to Oz

Thanks, everyone...you're making me tear up here. <3 Um, and Mark, nope, it's my own apartment...My friend had offered her place, but I thought hard about it, and figured that I'd just like my own place. And the first month's rent is free...so I could afford it. Hopefully I don't lose my job!!!!! (I literally just knocked on wood and said a little prayer...!)

That's so great! A place of your own, congratulations! It may be scary at times, it may be hard and I won't pretend it's easy, but I think you will make it.

Yea, sorry to hear about your divorce.

Is this the first time you'll be living on your own?

I think this is...exciting!

Also, it's okay if you're not on UD all the time giving us all the Disney news you can find. The internet has sucked many of us up, and when you've escaped, don't go back in! Just kidding, but, seriously, don't let the internet take hold of you as it can. Not when your out on your own, with your whole real life ahead of you!
