About a month ago, I ordered two DVDs from them during one of their sales. Both DVDs were, of course, sold out and I waited a bit for them to get the DVDs back in stock.
After a while, I got tired of waiting and decided to cancel my order on DeepDiscount and order the dvds on Amazon instead. Several attempts at cancelling the order and none of them seemed to work as I just got a shipping confirmation for one of the DVDs today.
I tried calling them and after a ridiculously long wait, the person told me that since one of the orders shipped, I cannot cancel it at the moment.
I have personally had it with this online company and will not ever order another DVD or CD from them ever again.

I'm wondering if I'm in the middle of something myself. I ordered a copy of "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" during their last sale many weeks ago, in fact about a month ago. My card has been charged, but I have still not seen it in the mail. It should have been here already. I may have to call to see what is going on.
I think I'm done with them too after this.

You definitely have good reason to be angry with Deep Discount, but I have to say I've (thankfully) never experienced such problems. I've maybe ordered from them, two or three times and the way I view it, you go to Deep Discount for well, the discounts... not the speedy service. But I'm not trying to discredit your complaints.

I have ordered from DeepDiscount a bunch of times in the past (nothing recent) and only a couple of times has their service been a bit slow. The main thing that annoys me is that you can't check whether an item is "In Stock" until the last phase of the checkout, and by then it's basically too late. That said, they re-stocked the items quite quickly and the order did arrive in a reasonable frame of time.
Their online customer service is non-existant, but the prices are good. I concur with the above poster, who said that you use DeepDiscount for the prices, not for a speedy service.

I don't know, maybe I'm just old fashioned, but when you are quoted a time frame that your order should get to you and then it doesn't, I think that's crappy service and any company that does that as more of the norm, should be run out of business.UmbrellaFish wrote:You definitely have good reason to be angry with Deep Discount, but I have to say I've (thankfully) never experienced such problems. Not to mention the crappy customer service. I've worked a lot of retail, and if I treated ANY customer that way, I'd be fired and/ or my store would loose a customer. How many customers can a company loose before they don't exist anymore?
I have to agree, I think I'm sticking with Amazon!

PixarFan - minus me actually cancelling the order, that same exact thing happened to me (over a month wait to get 2 DVD's to ship) back in January to Feb of this year... Only, when I ordered them, the site told me they were actually In-Stock. Back in November of '08, I swore I'd never order another disc that said "Out of Stock" after it took them a month to get me an O-o-S Pet Sematary.
Haven't used them again since.
