f they're distributed by Disney, then yes, they should carry the Disney logo. Honestly, I don't really get this thread. The poll is about something completely different than the article you're linking to. If Paramount has signed on to the distribution of those Marvel films, including Iron Man 3, then Paramount will do it. Disney will take over when those movies have been released, and new Marvel movies will be made. It's not really about preference.

Again, don't confuse it, I was actually and still am happy that Disney bought Marvel. I think it could be good for both. That said, I really, really don't want to see Disney logos attached to any Marvel film. It would in my humble opinion hurt both brands. Use the Touchstone label or just let Marvel carry it's self, but slapping a Disney logo on ANY Marvel film would be a mistake, and I think alienate most of both fan bases.KubrickFan wrote:f they're distributed by Disney, then yes, they should carry the Disney logo. It's not unrelated, the poll and the article. Disney seems rather ready to fight for the rights to "Iron Man 3," which the article seems to make it seem as though Disney not only wants this film, but they want to "brand" their name on it.
"And fan site IESB reported in February, “Certain Disney publicists have already been telling members of the press that ‘Iron Man 3’ will definitely be distributed and branded with the Walt Disney logo."
Regardless of if Disney gets "Iron Man 3" or not, sooner or later they will start producing Marvel films, and it sounds like they want to use the Disney name to do it. I VERY much disagree with that move.
I FULLY agree!Mickeyfan1990 wrote:No. No. No. I'd always thought the Iron Man films should be owned and distributed by Paramount. But should the day come, at least let Touchstone distribute it.

I think if and when (well, when - let's face it a major reason for the Marvel purchase was for the films) Disney start making Marvel films, they'll be branded as "Marvel Films", not Disney, Touchstone, Hollywood or anything else. Why dilute the brand they paid so much for?
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I agree, and that in fact is what I want to see. Thing is, I'm starting to worry that Disney is going to dilute the brand they just bought, thus diluting their own brand in the process. As a fan of both, I'd really hate to see that.2099net wrote:I think if and when (well, when - let's face it a major reason for the Marvel purchase was for the films) Disney start making Marvel films, they'll be branded as "Marvel Films", not Disney, Touchstone, Hollywood or anything else.
