To be fair, I think these come from Europe ("Raiponce" being the French name for Rapunzel), where the title "Tangled" isn't being used. But yeah, a lot of the merchandise that has appeared does give the feeling of the pot calling the kettle black (or should that be pink?).

Really? I thought Megara was much thinner, hence her unusually thin torso. :?
Megara is thin, that's for sure. No offence.

if what is in the concept art is in the film, it looks like they actually kept the ending of the original fairytale  And from reading the details on that site and putting some pieces together, I think I totally get HOW it ends. Which will be VERY powerful.

wouldn't that be nice for all the purists on UD :)

my theory: SPOILER:

Rapunzels hair ends up cut by the end of the film. Yet the healing powers that were transferred to her through a magical flower when she was a baby remain inside her still. But not in her hair, it's in her tears. Her tears will save Flynn as he seemingly dies in her arms at the end of the film. Sounds pretty plausible to me. Now I'm even more glad they're releasing the film as 'Rapunzel' over here...

I know right? The story sounds a LOT more like the original fairytale then a lot of people were expecting it to be. It even works better in the way they handled it. It's reaaaaaally clever. I also love the idea of how her hair gets it's magic...

and in dutch a little: Ik vind Rapunzel persoonlijk ook leuker klinken dan Raponsje :) haha

The link that DisneyFan09 posted- HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS MUST HAVE TANGLED ARTWORK UP NOW!!!!!! I NEED TO GO SOON!!!!!!!!!! (I'm assuming that that's where all the pictures came from.) Thanks so much for posting it, DisneyFan09!

It's interesting to know that Rapunzel loves Mother Gothel...I mean, I don't recall having known that!

OMG @ Pictures #39 and #40 and #41!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In #39, Rapunzel looks so sad...but if we know that she loves Gothel...? I wonder what's going on that's making her so sad!!!

Picture #40 spells "there" wrong, unless that's the old-fashioned way of writing it...?

What's going on in Picture #4? Is Gothel turning old here?!? from not having Rapunzel around to brush her hair?!?

Picture #113: Rapunzel kidnaps Flynn! Did we know that? Maybe it sounds familiar...right, she's the one who kidnaps him?! I love it!

PATRICK!!! OMG I LOVE YOUR THEORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited!!!!!!! :pink:

ja, erg leuk dat zowel de Engelstalige versie als de Nederlandse 'Rapunzel' zal gaan heten. Raponsje is leuk voor de Efteling :P

but back to English now :) The way they're handling it appears clever, contemporary and very interesting. I think it's going to be a major tearjerker towards the end of the film. That concept image looked quite emotional actually. Anticipation level is rising by the minute now

YUP!

Also: I seem to recall a lullaby was sung to Rapunzel, possibly called 'My Forever' that would activate the magic in Rapunzel's hair and make it glow as seen in the concept art. In the D23 interview the directors mentioned the song was typical Menken and it had two meanings. One meaning for Rapunzel and Gothel, where she would sing the song to Rapunzel to activate the magic and use it to stay young. The other meaning would come in the form of a love song between Rapunzel and Flynn. This way, if she sings it to him at the end, the magic is activated once more through her tears to save Flynn's life. If you watch the concept art, Rapunzel's tears are glowing.

Well. If they're going to go with that idea, that should keep Grimm purists happy. After all, this is the same company that said: "Snow White's stepmother dying by dancing in hot-iron shoes is too graphic."

Also this:

This solution ties up the story better then the original. In the original she just cries and cures his blindness. But in this version they figured out a way to give her hair a magic ability, that is a motivation for her to not cut her hair AND the solution to how she saves Flynn. It's REALLY ingenious!

Wow you can really tell that this movie despite the name change will still be magically and heart warming :)
Personally it looks like it will be a mix between Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast (Lovely  )

I think the seen when Gothel is transformed to her actual age will be very dark and twisted which will be fantastic

I can just imagine Rapunzel finally meeting her parents alot like sleeping beauty :)

Oh i love its going to open it a traditional fairy tale book but can someone please tell me how that is going to work with the title Tangled :L[/b]

Spoilers:
I love that they are keeping close to the storyline, but didn't someone who saw the screening say that Flynn wasn't blinded?

But of course, in the concept art he looks like he is dying, so that doesn't mean the scene won't happen, right? The scene looks epic, kind of like the Batb scene, so it would be lovely if they kept it. :)

Isn't it just concept art? I don't wanna sound like a idiot, but isn't it still uncertain if all of the concepts ideas will survive in the final film?

if this part is in the movie its gonna be cool, showing R looking at that painting, it also reminds me of anastasia how she was looking at that painting of her family

the flower sort of reminds me of batb

Yes i know this is concept art but i have read on numerous website that there will be a story book beginning with narrator. I would also say that all of that concept art will be featured in the movie as some of it has already been officially released on the WDAS Facebook.

I totally agree with everyone who is comparing this to BatB Hopefully this too will be Oscar Werethy (<- sorry about spelling) The film also reminds me alot of Sleeping Beauty. A young Princess returning to her Royal Family after 16 (18 for Rapunzel) years. Wow this film will surely do amazing.

Is the flower on most of the merchandise and the WDAS website the Magical Flower that saves the Queen and Flynn ??? Please comfirm. :)

I really hope this film does brilliant for Disney as it looks Amazing and Rapunzel will have a long lasting legacy like Snow White , Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Belle :D

I thought that the rapunzel plant was supposed to save the queen, according to the classic fairy tale. Unless the magic flower is the rapunzel plant...I hope.

New “Soundsational” daytime parade headed for Disneyland in 2011 to include Tangled’s Rapunzel, live musicians

http://www.insidethemagic.net/2010/07/n ... d-in-2011/

A Disney Princess float will also be part of the new parade and will include Rapunzel from Disney’s upcoming film Tangled, along with a representation of her tower home.

“Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” is described as having “thrilling rhythms and bold percussion that will bring to life some of the most beloved melodies from Disney films.” Live musicians will be featured and watching crowds will be invited to join in and dance with the characters.

(Rapunzel is at the front of the Princess Float.)
