Who's tired of the Law & Order franchises?

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - On the same day that NBC announced the completion of its merger with Vivendi Universal Entertainment, the network announced a second important move to ensure the long-term future of NBC Universal. NBC has agreed to a multi-tiered agreement and extension with Wolf Films and executive producer Dick Wolf.
The new agreement extends Wolf's overall deal with NBC through June of 2008. All three of Wolf's currently running dramas -- "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" -- received two-year pick-ups, carrying the reliable drama veterans through the 2005-06 season.

The deal also adds a fourth "Law & Order" franchise, branded "Law & Order: Trial By Jury," for the 2004-05 season. NBC is believed to be looking at "Trial By Jury" for a midseason slot.

"This is a hugely important deal that assures NBC and viewers of many more years of the most successful drama franchise on TV and offers the promise of a fourth new series," says NBC Universal President Jeff Zucker. "We're looking forward to continuing our long relationship with Dick Wolf and his entire team for many years to come."
The flagship Wednesday "Law & Order" is now set to run through at least its 16th season, which would make it the second longest-running drama series in television history and the longest-running police drama. In this, its 14th season, "Law & Order" has averaged 15.9 million viewers per week and is a reliable time slot winner among adults 18-49.

"Special Victims Unit" and "Criminal Intent" are also reliable demographic winners for NBC. The new deal will carry "SVU," averaging 12.5 million viewers a week, through its seventh season. "CI," good for 13.3 million viewers a week, will be completing its fifth season when this deal expires.

"I've been on the air at NBC continuously for the past 20 years and this new deal means that I could be as lucky for the next 20," Wolf says. "Synergy has become an overused word, but the concept of a true partnership never goes out of style."

I'm very tired of Law & Order franchises what's next Law and Order: Prisoners Intent? or Law & Order: Child Services Unit?

Come on this is not a Star Trek francise and at least Star Trek had only one show not four shows at the same time.
Give other shows a chance and stop ordering Law & Order.
Now CSI is doing the same thing. What's next CSI: Los Angles or CSI: Houston or even CSI: The White House.

Stop with the Franchises!!! Get new ideas, man!!!

They can't make enough Law & Order or CSI series' for me. I'd love to see one of each replace every "reality" show on television (as long as they kept up the superb writing & acting on all of them so far).

I agree with you their buffalobill Law and Order and CSI are very well written series. Reality shows are dominating television shows and that's not fair. Reality shows are also cheater to make and produce so that's why so many networks have them.

Honestly I feel that is is fine. Maybe if the shows were lack luster. But they continue to be fresh. I have never seen the show CSI and I know that it has several spinoffs, I am sure it is good but I just refuse to watch CBS.
This is also good that they are adding another spinoff series to the Law and Order franchise. It is a good thing for myself and other working actors from the east coast. So many of us have relied on Law & Order at one time or another to pay rent.

I've never seen Law & Order (thought I love The Practice, and hate this is a third beloved TV show that ends this year!), but I voted yes, b/c I'm sick of everyone else watching them! Q: "Wanna do ____?" A: "No, Law & Order is coming on" hahaha

"The Practice" will leave this year but it will be replaced in the fall by a spinoff that follows James Spader's character to a new law firm.

The Practice's James Spader and Rhona Mitra are set to star, along with "Star Trek" actor William Shatner. The name of the spin-off is expected to be "The Firm", but has not been announced as of yet.
The new series has been already given a 22-episode order. ABC and producer 20th Century Fox TV are behind the profect set for fall 2004.

I've never seen LAO but more than one spinoff at a time is absurd, I mean why not think of something new for the TV audience rather than give us rehash with different characters. anyway I love the practice too, that punch eleanor delivered was unbelievable, I'm thinking she has a little Buffy in her, lol.

i thought it was a good show...but then you could find it on tv basically anytime you wanted it through either a knockoff show or syndication...think it basically went into overkill for me.
