Just Saying Hi

Post by tijerin »

Just found this wonderful website and registered. Ive just bought every Disney DVD classic ever made thru various places (Circuit City, Disney Movie Club, eBay, and half.com) I used the checklist and even got all the Treasures movies (albeit the Costco ones, not the tins, but hey, who need a tin, I'm watching a DVD :) ) Anyways, I know I'm gonna get some bootlegs. I think Ive done good so far although I think the Mulan I just got yesterday was a bootleg as it says DTS and THX and the side labeling doesn't line up, HOWVEVER the Cd is rough on the top, not smooth (see Ive been lurking in the forum). I bought this one on half.com. When I looked to see what else this "seller" was selling - it was only Little Mermaid, Jungle Book and Lady and the Tramp, go figure. I popped it into the DVD player and it seems real. It even has the whole THX intro and menus. Based on previous posts, this has the warning signals of a bootleg but it also displays some of the qualitites of an authentic so I just can't tell.

I bought two lots from another guy on eBay which I'm anticipating to be bootlegs although he swears they're not but the guys been selling like 20 of them - 1 lot was Jungle Book and Lady and the Tramp and the other lot was Little Mermaid and Lady and the Tramp. Haven't got them yet.

I guess I'm a little OCD. I bought them all in two days, have them arranged in the order they were on the checklist LOL

Anyways, just popping in to introduce myself and say "Hello"

Welcome to the forum, tijerin! :)
I'm a really new here also but this seems to be wonderful place for all the Disney fans! People are so nice.. :)
I wish I could buy all the movies right now, but I can't.. altough I think I have a pretty nice collection already since I have only collected animation movies since last month. :) I have 12 Disney movies now and will get Finding Nemo soon. :)

That was my OCD

I've always been a Disney fan but when I decided I wanted them all, I just went for it. The few "bootlegs" I end up with (which I imagine is inevitable unless I get extremely lucky) will be replace upon their re-release. I do have an extra copy of Lady and the Tramp coming is anyone's interested. The guy claims they are real but I doubt it as he's sold probably 20-30 copies between Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp and The Jungle Book.

Welcome to both the newbies in this thread. UD is a great place... the people really are nice, aren't they?

Anyone else creeped out by the lurkers??? (here's where I would insert a shifty-eyed emoticon if there was one).
