Thank you so much, Kelvin- I appreciate that, as I'm sure others will, too!
We still don't know what's going to be on the 2-disc DVD set, right?
I'm still going to hold on to my 2001 Platinum, but some of those new features interest me. It'll be interesting to read everyone's thoughts on the new features to see if it's worth a rent...

I was just gonna ask what is new to this Edition and you just answered me Kelvin lol.
Thanks! WOW, so I am a bit torn here. Since I do not know when i will be getting a blu-ray player and when I will upgrade my PC with a blu-ray burner, I don't know if I should get the DVD edition as well. Or just stick with the blu-ray edition. ughhh! lol
According to a brazilian blog called "Blog do Jotacê", the previews on the DVD EDITION will be for Dumbo, UP, Princess and the Frog, Snow Buddies and Beauty and the Beast. Notice that this is for the brazilian DVD, and could change without furter notice!
If it confirms to be the case, it's weird to see a preview for BatB before one for Fantasia... unless it's for the 3-D release in theaters...

but did you notice that in the press statement it said beauty and the beast then fanstasia? could this mean we are getting beauty and the beast in spring instead of fantasia and fantasia has been pushed to the october slot?pick wrote:According to a brazilian blog called "Blog do Jotacê", the previews on the DVD EDITION will be for Dumbo, UP, Princess and the Frog, Snow Buddies and Beauty and the Beast. Let's wait and see! I believe in about a week or so someone here in the forum might get their hands in an early copy... it's been like that EVERY YEAR, damn it! I can't wait for some pictures!

it seems too odd not to have a commercial for the next diamond edition on there. my bet is, if a beauty and the beast commercial really is on there.. then it's for the diamond edition and NOT the theatrical rerelease.pick wrote:Yes, I did!nomad2010 wrote: but did you notice that in the press statement it said beauty and the beast then fanstasia? could this mean we are getting beauty and the beast in spring instead of fantasia and fantasia has been pushed to the october slot?I tought about it too, but I just can't see Disney doing it! But then... it's Disney we're talking about, and they did some really weird stuff recently... LOL!

Those extras on the Snow White dvd sound awesome! I only have a single disc edition of this movie with a few extras so I just may double-dip. I hope the European version does not differ much from the USA one? It has been anounced on Bol.com that it will be released in The Netherlands on 28 October, but the site doesn'' t reveal anything about the extras apart from that it's got a preview of "The Princess and the Frog".

Perhaps they aren't trying to push Blu Ray in Europe like they are in America.geniuswalt wrote:It's kind of pointless for Disney to push bluray down people's

What do you guys think?
Has everyone decided what version of the film that they are going to get? I am just getting the standard Blu Ray. At first I was going to get the Plush Set, or the Deluxe Set...but what's the point. If Disney was consistant, and offered this kind of packaging/extras with every release I would have no problem. However, it's just for one film.

one BD + 20 dvds per store. It's understandable though, here people only buy disney films for their children.

I just want to say to everyone that I'm not be getting the DVD of "Snow White" when it comes out soon when the standard DVD will be released by late November. I'm keeping the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD of "Snow White", because it is cool.
I was checking disc 2 on the 2001 Platinum Edition that they have the original RKO main titles rather than the 1950's Buena Vista version with the narration. Guess what! The Diamond Edition does include the original RKO main titles which is replace the reissued one. That means no more Buena Vista main titles, but you might see it on both the 1993 VHS tape and the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD/VHS. After the original RKO end title, it will show the cut short Walt Disney Pictures new logo.
I might post the pics of the original RKO main titles soon.
