That's so cool! I go to a conservative art school so everyone is just quite and told to draw/paint/sculpt ect like everyone else.SpringHeelJack wrote:I mean, my life is a one-man musical. I actually do burst out into song when walking down the street. And given that I attend a liberal arts school, chances are good that at any given time at least five other people will join me.

At a public high school? Really? I'd wind up dead... not to mention people would put videos on YouTube for the sole purpose of making fun of iter...perhaps just show your emotions by spontaneously bursting into singing/dancing while walking down the street?

I don't want to offend in any way, but seriously how does that work? Art is a freedom and should be expressed in any way possible. I mean, i know art is in the eye of the beholder but i can't imagine how a conservative art school works. I almost imagine that there are some sort of boundries and art shouldn't have that...Flanger-Hanger wrote: That's so cool! That's why it's called a joke. It doesn't. There's no such thing.singerguy04 wrote:I don't want to offend in any way, but seriously how does that work?Flanger-Hanger wrote: That's so cool! That sounds rough. I have a friend across town who goes to a moderate art school, where he's allowed to do what he wants, then the professors warp it to fit their standards. It's very soul crushing.Flanger-Hanger wrote:That's so cool! ...they compare in the sense that neither is anywhere near as good as their respective fan bases seem to think they are, and both share an amount of popularity disproportionate to the overall quality.PeterPanfan wrote:Okay first of all: High School Musical was a TV MOVIE. The Phantom of the Opera is a Broadway musical that has been running for twenty years. If you expect High School Musical to even COMPARE to Phantom, you have some issues.

...I didn't think any kid watching it was seriously thinking that high school was going to be an actual musical, no matter how young they were. Children are surprisingly pretty good at determining reality. As a child, I could still watch a movie without thinking "Boy, it's great the real world is just like this." If they're that stupid, they deserve to be disappointed.drfsupercenter wrote:Not to mention, it gives little kids false hopes for when they get to high school
