Post by PeterPanfan »

I couldn't really think of any actors that would garner a LOT of discussion, so I used the old reliable. :P

Johnny is one of my favourite actors of all time ! :D

(My all time favorite will always be James Dean.)

He used to date Winona Ryder, I never knew that !!!
They were perfect for each other in Edward Scissorhands, but I bet it's her shoplifting incident, that might have spoiled the relationship. (it spoiled her whole career BTW)

JOHNNY DEPP IS MY DAWG!

Seriously the guy can ACT. The fact that he hasn't received an Academy Award for his efforts is a sad one. He truly seems dedicated to any role he plays.

He was amazing in "Ed Wood". Its easily my favorite Johnny Depp role. He was such a happy loser! XD

Yes, the true Man of a Thousand Faces.

Oh yeah, and I actually saw part of the filming of Public Enemies. We don't live too far from Oshkosh, so I managed to see it. It's cool how they managed to totally transform the street into the 1930's, and the guy playing a dead body, and Johnny actually waved to all of us as he headed out to hair & makeup. It was fun to see it. It really was. :D

I was most impressed by his performance as Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow. He was equally amazing in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but that movie itself was very weak. So, even though he wasn't enough like the character Ichabod, his performance was so good it was like he was effectively re-imagining and re-creating it.

I still think this actor would have been the perfect Ichabod:

I think Johnny Depp is a pretty good actor. I liked him in the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy, Sweeey Todd and Edward Scissorhands. I thought he was okay as Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I prefer Gene Wilder's portrayal a little more.

I like Johnny Depp. I enjoyed his performances in Nick Of Time, Finding Neverland and Pirates Of The Carribean. The one little thing that slightly bugs me is he ALWAYS chooses such off-the-wall roles. I know that is what is so different and entertaining about him. I just think for once he should choose a role as a regular father and husband. Now that would be a change of pace for him. (After that he can get back to his amazingly crazy roles.)
Whose Line, Boy Meets World, Adventures In Wonderland, Growing Pains, Walker Texas Ranger, 7th Heaven, Brotherly Love, Saved By The Bell, Full House, Muppets Tonight, The Nanny, Home Improvement, Silver Spoons, Family Matters, Reba, The Drew Carey Show,

One of my favorite movies is Benny and Joon, but I think he is a good actor in all of movies, even though some of movies have not been that well received. I will watch 21 Jump Street as often as I can to enjoy watching the birth of true star. Also liked him in "Nick of Time", "Sleepy Hollow", and the creepy "The Astronaut's Wife".

:D

I 1st saw him in Edward Scissorhands when I was younger and I used to watch it over & over again. (I did that a lot with films when I was younger & I still do a bit, but now I will watch new ones too lol)

Then a few years later I reluctantly watched pirates of the caribbean, and that was only because it was a disney.
Believe it or not but up until this point I did not know who Johnny Depp was, I had heard of him but I didn't know what he had bin in.
Needless to say I loved the film so I started looking for more of his films & I really liked them. That is when I realised he was in Edward Scissorhands.
I mostly love his films because most of the characters he plays are odd. I am a little weird myself so I can relate to him/his characters.

the 1st time I watched Finding Neverland I just absolutely fell in love with it & that's when Johnny became my favourite actor. I was enchanted by the story & Johnny's performance, the imagination & the innocent & pure relationship his character forms with the children & there mother.
Now finding neverland is arguably my favourite film.
I love the bit at the end where the grandmother finally comes around.

He was really, really good in secret window.
I really felt sorry for his character Mort, I mean the guy's wife leaves him, then a nut job turns up and really picks on him.
Depp played the part so well that I still sort of fell sorry for mort after I have seen how it end's. I won't give anything away.

I also think Johnny has one of the nicest smiles I have ever seen.
two of my favourites are the one from Pirates. What I have as my avatar, which memnv beat me too by the way, so I had to wait what felt like for ever until he changed it, so I could finally use it.
The other smile I really love is in Scissorhands, when he is sitting at the table with the family.
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9. 2 Timothy ch2 v 19, “ Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness”.
