I got an email this morning from this lady. Why I (of all people) received this email, I will never know. Maybe somebody else got one of these too. It delves more into the techie side of DVDs than I usually do, complicated by her disability. So...help!
(paragraph spacing mine)
Hi, Dave, my name is Annabelle Morison, but you can just call me Annabelle.
I am a blind woman who is an absolute fan of Disney Movies, Children's Cartoons, and even TV Show Episodes, and I was wondering, where can I find the original, one-disc versions of Disney DVD movies like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Pete's Dragon, Toy Story, and Doug's 1st Movie?
Also, what's the difference between the Limited Issue, Disney Gold Classic, and Special Platinum Edition DVD's? Does "Limited Issue" specifically refer to the original release versions of these Disney Movies?
By the way, I have the Limited Issue versions of "Lady And The Tramp", "The Jungle Book", and "101 Dalmatians", and there seems to be a problem. On my computer's DVD Player, when I put on "Lady And The Tramp", the French and Spanish versions of the audio soundtracks aren't accessible in the same way that they are on "101 Dalmatians". Also, when I put on "Lady And The Tramp", it appears as an untitled DVD. Is there a particular reason why this is happening? And, there's not a French track or a Spanish track on "The Jungle Book", why is that?
I have JAWS (Job Access With Speech) 9.0, a screenreader that turns text into speech. It reads entire screens, and it even reads while you type. However, JAWS doesn't have the ability to recognize images and pictures. On a lot of programs, there are buttons and controls that are made out of images and pictures. In order for them to work correctly for blind customers, JAWS needs to have them fitted with a series of scripts, which are basically documents of text, filled with lots of information about things like 3 States, Buttons, Checkboxes, Combo Boxes, Dialogs, Edits, Edit Combos, Edit Spinboxes, Extended Select Listboxes, Graphics, Group Boxes, Header Bars, Hot Keys, Listboxes, Listviews, Multiline Edits, Multiselect Listboxes, Password Edits, Radio Buttons, Read Only Edits, Screen Tips, Scroll Bars, Sliders, Spinboxes, Statics, Status Bars, Tab Controls, Toolbars, Tool Tips, and Treeviews.
If you have any further information or questions for me, please feel free to Email me at any time, as I check my Emails several times each day.
Thank you so much,
Annabelle
