First Look At Disney's "Roadside Romeo"

Post by lighthousemike »

I found these images on the AP wire thought ill share them with you.

In these photos provided by Yash Raj Films and Walt Disney Pictures, the lead character of the animated feature film “Roadside Romeo,” Romeo is seen. The dancing, singing dogs with the dreamy-eyes are classic Disney animation, but the action in Walt Disney's first co-production in India is pure Bollywood. Aww, it looks cute! And the last picture reminds me of The Aristocats a little bit...

Thanks for sharing, Mike!

So this'll be done with the same technique as Rapunzel; hand-drawn with a touch of CGI, right?

The design is really odd. Its like they wanted to have dogs walk like humans, but were design with the correct anatomy in mind.

This is fully CGI, no hand drawn animation. Rapunzel has no hand drawn animation either.

Is it made by Indian animation studio Yash Raj films. It is only being distributed in the USA by Disney.

It has a very limited US release today, October 24th.

It came out yesterday in my country but I don't want to watch it really. (I don't feel like going out anymore anyway lol.)

I don't like Bollywood movies much, other than for the music and with the exception of some movies which have nice plots like "Devdas" (which is my all-time fav Bollywood movie) but that's about it for me with Bollywood movies.

This movie is directed by Bollywood-film makers and for a specific audience in mind, so I wouldn't be surprised if western Disney fans don't like it, since I think most UD members haven't watched a Bollywood movie before.

What?! But I thought Rapunzel would literally be a mix of 2D and CGI?! :( If that's so, then we've probably been hoodwinked.

How can we be hoodwinked if it was already announced, like two years ago, that it'd be animated with Non-photogrealistic rendering, a form of CGI that is meant to look like traditional animation in 3D?

I dont get why people still think rapunzel has any hand drawn animation in it even to this day. it has a strong focus on the 2d principals, giving it a 2d quality, but thats about the extent of it.

as for this movie, I think I just threw up in my mouth. looks horrible.

From over at <a href="http://www.cartoonbrew.com/old-brew/roa ... a">Cartoon Brew</a>
This almost escaped our notice… but not quite! Disney has quietly opened Roadside Romeo today (we posted the trailer back in May). It’s “Absolutely ‘howl’arious!” says the India Times in a four-star review.

Should you wish to see this flick, it’s playing at the NAZ 8 Cinemas in Artesia, with English subtitles. The theatre is located at 6440 E. South Street, in Lakewood, CA. It’s playing all week at 5:00 6:00 7:00 8:00 9:00 10:00 and 11:00pm.

Move over Wall•E - Roadside Romeo is now qualifed for for an Oscar nomination!
