the good thing about HP is that it does capture your imagination and you lose all track of time. Books are much better than movies because when you read one, your mind is putting images together. So to me, this latest HP book was a two day movie, instead of 2 hours!!!!! Maybe you should try it!!!

However, maybe it was just me, but I felt that this installment of the book was different than the preceding four. I dunno why. Not that it wasn't good, but I just didn't think it lived up to the series!
by far, this last book was my least favorite out of the five. Harry was so angry throughout the whole book. I didn't see him grow throughout his 5th year at hogwarts where I saw him growing (maturing) in the other 4. I hope in book 6 his anger has mellowed some. It really took from the book if you know what I mean.

Yeah.. the style was completely different, in my eyes...
The thing that kept me reading the book was the suspense. It was a good book and all, but I definately prefered the third one the most....
Well, I was looking forward towards the third book the most, but since Richard Harris (dumbledore) died, and the fact that they have a new director, I'm not too sure about this movie.
However, I did hear that Ian, the man who played Gandolf, might be playing dumbledore, but I'm not sure...
Michael Gambon is to play Dumbledore in movie 3 and is a very good british actor so you don't need to worry about his skills. Also he's a lot younger than Richard Harris (66 I believe) so there no chance (well a little, but not much) of him dieing during production.
Plus the director (cant remember his name) is really hot at the moment (winning loads of awards and such) so I don't see him ruining this film.
I hope he doesn't ruin the film. I did hear that they are done shooting it and now they are on putting it together. I wonder when it is going to be at theaters?

Oh, and I'm not saying that the new director and actor will mess the film up, I'm just saying, won't it be different? I mean, two different Dumbledore's...thats just odd!
Yes, two Dumbledore's will be weird, but remember they originally planned to have a different Harry, Ron, and Hermione for each movie: that would have been weird.
Oh, and I'm on Chapter 17 of the book, and I REALLY don't like that Umbridge woman!!!!!!! As in the 1st book, I really hope the defense against the dark arts teacher dies!!!!!
What do you mean ONLY chapter 17? I just got it on Saturday!!!!! And I have read a chapter or two since my last post. Harry is back at school, and he's doing occupency (or whatever) lessons with snape, and he just got in trouble from Umbridge (grrrrrrrrrrrrrr) for doing the interview with Rita Skeeter. And how hermione roped him into doing that is still beyond me. anyone else think it's not cho that harry likes?
OH, and I'm now on Page 626 (Stitch lol!) and Umbridge is an evil, detesable old hag! she's one of those characters like Malfoy that you just want to jump into the book and do bad things to...
Finally finished!!!!! It was awesome-it really lived up to the other books. I felt so bad for Harry at the end when he was with Dumbledore. Anyone know what Luna meant when she was talking about the whispers behind the veil? Is that where the dead go? Now I can't wait for the 6th to come out. How about "Harry Potter and the Secret of the Veil"?
I wonder how long the actors that play in the Harry Potter movies right now will go on and how long they will want them for. I know they are signed on for the 3rd movie and the director Chris Columbus is calling it quits because he wanted out of England. But the studio originally stated that they don't know how long they want the same actors to stick around for the fact that they are aging too fast??? What a bunch of crock. They're aging no faster than he would in the book.
Oh well. New Dumbledore, new Harry? By the time they make the 3rd movie it may well be too late to continue on with them anyway. I realize they are postponing the 3rd movie because they don't want to catch up with the book series and have another 3-5 year waiting period until the next one comes out and they can continue production, but come on.
