Sora and Riku are beautifully drawn, but the cards and the Disney characters all kind of look like crap. I plan to get this, even though I own the GBA version (which is beautiful, even if not in 3D, btw). I think this release is kind of an excuse to cast English voices for the key Organization members and also to tide fans over for a while. I'm still clueless as to why they won't release the Final Mixes here though.

I did not like this game. I found it too boring and all you really had to do was button mash through the whole game( With the exception of the last 3 bosses)

Lets hope the PSP can make the game less dull.

Not meaning to get off topic but-

That question is one of the many wonders of the gaming world...Why does Japan get all the fun...(Video Games and differ versions besides Kingdom Hearts) Perhaps it's because they were originated in Japan....but then again That's a debate for a differ thread....

I am actually Surprised North America is getting RE: Chain Of Memories...I know I will be buying it because there are more story lines in this and the plot thickens...and in Japan Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix was packaged with RE: COM which RE: COM already had English Voices cast IN JAPAN (which makes no sense to me ) with Japanese Subtitles or so I have read and heard....(I was wondering what I'd be playing in December now that Ghostbusters the game got shelved (I hope momentarily) But this will satisfy me until the PSP and DS Game comes out..and there is a rumor the Cell Phone game Coded might arrive to the USA in PSP Form as well as possible Cell phone

This is the one that takes place in between the first and second, right?

If so, I think it's so cool that it's being transferred from GBA to PS2! But... would the visuals change, too? Like, is it going to look like the other two, or is it just going to look like the GBA screen with different controls?

The answer to that question will determine whether or not I buy this, since from what I know, it's not all that great.

WOOOOOOOOOOO! I'M SO EXCITED AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!! :pink: :pink: :pink:

I'm in total Kingdom Hearts fever again, since I just beat the first and the second one again like a month ago. HOORAH! Another 50 hours to blow on pure KH goodness.

Now if only they released Final Fantasy X-2 International+Last Mission here...

The basic answer is....It will be the story of COM only thing it will looks like PS2 Graphics... and might have a secret ending...more to the story than what the GBA was capable to do...there are screen caps of the game that was included in KHII Final Mix+ in Japan.....this game was a bonus full game included as a second disc in Japan only...It's graphics will blow the GBA OUT OF ATLANTICA...I was hoping they would release the final mix of KHII outside of Japan for once....but alas this is what we get and I am sure there are people that are not happy about getting the Final Mix of the game outside of USA (without importing I.e. just walk into gamestop and buy it) But this is I think as good as it gets for us over here....

So I will BUY It when it comes out and recommend you at least rent it if you are unsure.

A site that I got this info from is www.khinsider.com and has screencaps of the PS2 Chain Of memories from Japan...although I am sure once the NA Site is working they will have screen caps
Khinsider.com wrote:In the summer of 2006, Square-Enix and Disney announced a brand new game to be released on March 29, 2007: KINGDOM HEARTS II: FINAL MIX+. Following suit from the original installment, this game is a complete revamp with several additional features from the previously released Kingdom Hearts II.

In FM+, Japanese players will experience the English dub of Kingdom Hearts II, as well as get the chance to fight some all-new bosses (such as Roxas in The World that Never Was, a battle that was previously a non-interactive cutscene). Additional scenes and areas are included, including several new plot developments involving Roxas in Organization XIII and the chance to explore Hollow Bastion and other areas to a fuller extent.

A major departure from the original KH:FM is the inclusion of an entirely separate game in FM+'s package. Kingdom Hearts || Re: Chain of Memories, an entirely three-dimensional PS2 remake of the wildly popular GBA game Chain of Memories, will be included with KHII's final release. Players will get the chance to experience the CoM storyline in dazzling new graphics on the Playstation 2 console. Several additions have been added to this re-release of CoM, such as new battles (Riku vs. Zexion, for example) and the chance to use Re:CoM saves to unlock new battles in its counterpart, KHII:FM+.

Having actually played (and beaten) Re:CoM thanks to importing Final Mix+, there are some things to clarify:

* Re:CoM doesn't have a secret ending.

* Re:CoM has the card battle system from the GBA version, but it also has the "Reaction" commands from KH2.

* There are new cards in Re:CoM that weren't in the GBA version. (I don't know how Squenix intends to handle cards that could only be unlocked with save data from FM+.)

The following could be classified as spoilers:

* Some story details have changed between the GBA and the PS2 remake.

* There are two additional boss battles.

* There are new abilities added to both Sora's Story and Reverse/Rebirth.

All the voice acting in Re:CoM was in Japanese.

KH2:FM+ had English voice acting with Japanese subtitles.

Omg this is amazing! I've played CoM on GBA but it's much more preferable to play it on a console on the TV (Game Boy Player ftw)... but this is even better in a full 3D rendering! And I'm glad it's on PS2 rather than PS3... I probably would've bought one for this game xD

WOO HOO!!!!!!!! :D
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I hope it will be released here in Europe as well! I am really looking forward to the coming games in the Kingdom Hearts-series, especially the next PS3-game ("Kingdom Hearts III").

It seems most likely that it will be relased to PS3. But I don't think it will be relased before 2010 (at the earliest), so you have some years to save money for a PS3;)

Rumours says that "Kingdom Hearts III" may be confirmed in October this year at Tokyo Game Show... Google Kingdom Hearts III and you will find fansites will all the latest rumours and facts about the future of the KH-series.

As much as I enjoy Kingdom Hearts, CoM is my least favorite game in the series.

The story's good, but what kills it is the gameplay. The card based gameplay is inventive at first, but becomes cumbersome as the difficulty ramps up. This is especially true when you need a card to open a door. When I played the GBA version I was on Destiny Islands and I needed a specific card to open the door to the next room. I had to battle monsters for 1 hour before I could find it, delaying the game and annoying me. It just feels like an annoying grind. I rather hack and slash through the same monsters than to try to find a rare card to complete a door.

It being in 3D is not going to make me play it again. I can watch the cutscenes on YouTube and still get the general idea of the story.

I hate to be a killjoy. If you liked the game, fine. This is just my opinion on the game.

It's still real time, and you still fight with cards.

It plays exactly like Kingdom Hearts 1 (yay dodge roll!), you just don't have Donald/Goofy/world-specific character following Sora wherever he goes. The camera's controlled by the right analog stick, like Kingdom Hearts 2.
