This cover is indeed from a series of books by Ladybird of Disney Classics. There's a thread in Off-Topic authored by Chernobog or Chernabog (whichever one is from Spain) and he posted all the covers of the books. They all followed the format of the Snow White DVD cover with the lead character on top, the funy characters on the bottom right and the villain on the bottom left. If I find the thread again I'll provide a link.

Pornographic? Wha--?

I wish Disney would follow Warner Bros. lead and use the original poster art for their DVDs.

So I tried visiting www.cdcoverart.com --- and there was no cover art. Did the site get shut down due to copyright infringement or something? Instead I got sent to one of those evil search engine pages with tons of pop-ups. Y'know, the kind that wants to install browser hijackers and mess with your computer's settings. Just thought I'd warn you all.

Yeah, no one knows . . . snopes.com has the whole story. I would link to it but I'm too lazy. Anyway, I don't believe it was either, because I have that version and no one in my house has noticed it anything weird.

The original VHS cover was so not pornographical, the only Disney film subliminal leyend is found in... don't make me say it, I'll burst into tears, anyway, this leyend is a misinterpretation. That same "penis" can be "seen" sometimes in the film, but it isn't one, just a tower that looks a bit... you know...

Yeah, I know the whole story, but just don't buy into it. It's like the Sex in the stars in the Lion King, blah. The Disney Urban Legends site might have something on this, I don't remember. Can anyone post the "porn" cover so people can see?

Disney puts stuff in the movies that only if your looking for them you can see them. Like the pastor in the little mermaid I didn't see that till a friend told me about it.

Do any other disney antimated movies have sick stuff in them?

Go and see the movie again, you will see that the pastor thing, it's just his leg sticking out under his shorts... it was meant to be something funny.. but a lot of people want to believe something else.

And sure theres lots of things.... I havent heard it but supposedly, Aladdin whispers strange things during the movie... I just ignore it.... Im sure its not even there... as I said, people want to believe those dirty thigns in disney movies. But so far only the Rescuers had it. And Disney admittet to that and they removed it. So if there really was anything, Disney would remove it just like the Rescuers.

Im sorry, that half of a second didnt take anything of the beauty of the film away though. And it is removed now, so The Rescuers is still the great classic it always has been. I still can't help but wonder exactly how it ended up in the film....

"The Rescuers was the first of Disney's most important renaissance, it is a very important film for the company, since it is thanks to this film that the Walt Disney Company is still "running" today. Hmm never heard anyone consider "The Rescuers" a renaissance for Disney. "The Aristocats" was successful as well, and so was "The Fox and the Hound". And yes, "The Rescuers" was a success but those three did nothing to revive the company. It wasn't until "The Little Mermaid" in 1989-1990 that Disney enjoyed a mammoth success that resulted in $90 million in domestic box-office, best-selling video of the year, a triple platinum soundtrack, 2 oscars, 2 golden globes, 2 grammys, merchandise etc., and quickly it became one of the most popular films of the year. Now that's what I call a renaissance.
