Re: The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
Disney Duster,I thought you don't count sequels neither.
Anyway Ursula should have her story (Well,Disney NEVER said that Ursula killed Athena and that's why she was banished).

So if a hispanic person killed your mom, would you hate all hispanic people? What if a dog killed your mom? Would you hate all dogs? Or lightening killed your mom, would you hate lightening?Ariel'sprince wrote:But... her mother.
I know that neither Eric or anyone at his castle killed Athena but shouldn't she be still mad at them? or she can just hate pirates insted of all humans?.
Still,it's her mother.
What Triton feels is displacement. Its psychological. He would rather blame all of humanity for the actions of a few, than to JUST blame those few. Since he probably can't find those who killed her. He can't have revenge and it eats at him. Ariel and her sisters don't have that displacement. Even in the TV series, when they knew Ariel was going to the ship wrecks, surface, etc, they cautioned her so she wouldn't get in trouble. Far less, "its dangerous" speeches from them. They just didn't want to see her getting "beached". Where as Triton thinks they are all harpoon carrying, fish eating monsters.
Atlantis...I was being sarcastic.
I don't think Ursula killed Ariel's mother. If that was the case, then I doubt Ariel would make a deal with her. Unless Triton never told her, but that seems doubtful. Triton loves to tell Ariel how dangerous humans are and why, but Ursula was simply banished....I don't see Triton banishing Ursula because she killed his wife and mother of his children. I think Triton would have killed Ursula for that. I think Ursula was banished because she tried to take over Atlantica. Ursula doesn't seem the murdering type until her eels are killed. She could have killed Triton, she didn't. She could have killed Ariel, she didn't. Not until they made her kill her eels did she lose it.

You're right on the mark. I think I said the same thing earlier in this thread (or the original) when someone suggested the same thing. I think my words were, "he near blasted [Ursula] through a rock for simply messing with his daughter." You're also very right that Ursula never had any intention to kill Triton, Ariel or Eric until they threw the first punch. She just wanted them to be miserable.Siren wrote:I don't think Ursula killed Ariel's mother. If that was the case, then I doubt Ariel would make a deal with her. Also, I don't think Ursula is responsible for all the evil that happens in Ariel's world. There can be more than one villain as well as different degress of villainy.
Btw, I adore your banner Atlantis! The shot of Ursula rising out of the water is one of my favorites of the whole film! "Long live the Queen."

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Heaven forbid! but I see your point, maybe she already know that not all humans are bad.Siren wrote:So if a hispanic person killed your mom, would you hate all hispanic people? The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
Thank you Atlantis for all you said! Much love and appreciation from me to you!
That goes for you, too, Princess Forever.
I anyway, I was just giving an example of a better sequel that tied things more to the first, orginal classic. I didn't say Ursula killed Athena, just got her out of the way. And besides, Ursula may not try to kill normally, but to become queen you must get rid of the one taking your spot. Also, in my little example no one knows Ursula did away with Athena, though they could suspect it. Rather, in deleted scenes and other info, we learned Ursula may have been banished for using magic and trying to take over the kingdom, exactly what I had in my example. Ursula was sent away for using magic on the king and trying to take total control over how the kingdom was run. And since no one saw what happened to Athena, no one's quite sure how bad humans are. Maybe Ariel would say, "I don't believe Ursula. I don't know what happened, but I don't believe humans would do that to a mermaid when merpeople and humans aren't that different."
