It's been awhile since I've posted in this thread. Instead of a Chron. recap I'll just explain the recent ones.
Wall E: This is quite different from Pixar's other films, animation is superb, geniue. You can identify with Wall E's emotion and personality. The villain could've been alil stronger with more pathos to his motives. Wall E is such a orignal art form that takes Sci Fi to a whole new level of brillance.
Batman Begins: 1st time seein this film, it's fairly dark yet keeps you on the edge round every 3rd corner. I was pleased with plot not takin the usual "1st" hero movie plot where it painstakingly explains the origns of the hero. The character of Bruce Wayne comes off a bit too rational yet knows where his mind's goin. We can relate to his pain of makin the right choice.
My friends were surpised to hear that I haven't seen Batman Begins, they were like: "How can you get excited for a sequel if you haven't seen the 1st one?" I told 'em that I was more familar with Batman fightin with Joker (which is understandable) and that Dark Knight seems more interestin.

Mamma Mia!
I really don't know what to say about this film except that it was wonderful. Streep had a fantastic performance, bypassing a lot of the other actors. I do have only one thing to complain about and that is that a lot of the songs that were sung were not finished (as in the soundtrack had all of the song and some of the songs within the film did not finish what was on the soundtrack). But I do have to say something to the people who review the film and say that the actors cannot sing: the reviewers can probably not sing either so they really have no say in who can or cannot sing. Overall, if I could I would give it a 11/10 and I am most definitely going to buy the Blu-ray when it comes out (hopefully this year).

You can still critique someone's singing if you aren't a singer yourself. It would be different if the critic were running around saying they could sing, when they couldn't. I'm not much of a singer, and I can knowingly say that Pierce Brosnan had a terrible voice! Anywho, I just watched <i>Penelope</i>. Easily the cutest film of the past decade. Christini Ricci (who I'm normally not a fan of) shined in her role. And was it just me, or did she look absolutely adorable with her pig nose?!
And Catherine O'Hara was hilarious, as usual.<img src="http://i53.tinypic.com/314xj87.jpg">
The Dark knight
This was my 2nd time and it was absolutely the best Batman movie and super hero movie i have ever seen.
i did though have a few problems.
1) bales batman voice was way to much. i always thought that the voice change was supposed to be subtle like keton or conroy in tas. bale sounded like an old man dying of lung cancer
2) i have always hated the tumbler and still do. i want to see a real batmobile. the tumbler is just a tank
3) i really wish joker had been completely covered in white. i don't like the fact that it was supposed to be make up that he put on. i like the design of the joker (scars, dirty long green hair, dark eye circles) just not the fact his skin wasn't completely white.
Other than those few minor things i LOVED this film.

I just saw Till The Clouds Roll By (1946). The narrative was kind of boring but the musical numbers were wonderful. My favorites were the Show Boat introduction, the 2 Garland songs and I Won't Dance with Van Johnson (he looked really hunky here and I don't usually find him that attractive) and Lucille Bremer (what a great dancer she was!)

I've been pretty busy with watching films this week 
:
- The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - I finally saw it and, to be honest, didn't like it much. I though it was missing the magic of the first film and some things were kind of left unexplained. It definitely had several great scenes: the opening scene, the attack on Miraz's castle, Lucy's dream and the best scene of all - the White Witch's return. Tilda Swinton was born for this role. Still, I'm looking forward to "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader".
- Jaws 2 - I saw it for the first time and that cost me two hours of my life I'll never get back

- Jaws 3 - it's not saying much, but I found it to be better than "Jaws 2".
- Arthur - funny and engaging.
- Arthur 2: On the Rocks - I heard terrible things about this film and it's really not that bad at all. Actually, I think I liked it more than the original film.
- Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - poetic film and beautiful cinematography. The ending confused me a bit, but it's still good nonetheless.
- Lucky 7 - cute romantic comedy/drama. Kimberly Williams shone in her role and Patrick Dempsey wasn't annoying.
- Strangers on a Train - I thought it was weaker than Hitchcock's other films.

Last weekend I saw the following movies on DVD:
Grave of the Fireflies Touching Japanese animation about two orphaned kids trying to survive in war-ridden Japan. A boy has to take care of his little sister. The story has a tragic ending
Run, fatboy, run Mild English comedy about Dennis, a bit of a loser who got cold feet and ran from his marriage to his pregnant fiancee. Five years later the mother of his son is threatening to marry another guy named Width, and hearing Whit is going to run a marathon Dennis wants to compete with him, though he has no condition to speak of. Feel good movie in which the hero shows he can persevere.
Dawn Anna A 'true story', typical TV-movie fare but it's got Debra Winger in the lead. Dawn fights against a serious illness with support of her children and new-found partner... but then her youngest daughter is killed in the Columbine High school massacre.

Just came back from watching The X-Files: I Want To Believe and was really impressed that it wasn't as bad as all the critics say it is. I think they were expecting an episode of X-Files about extra-terrestrials, or some type of alien abduction or something like that instead of a modern-day weird murder mystery with a unique twist. Mulder and Scully are both here, and there are a couple of surprises within the movie that I won't spoil for anyone. If you just like movies that entertain you and want to enjoy a good popcorn flick, then this is just the ticket. Chris Carter has assembled a very good cast, and the photography is top-notch and all the TV-music is there for the whole package. I liked it!!!

Chicago - Wonderfully fantastic. No surprise why it won Best Picture. 5/5
RENT - Not the greatest adaptation of a Broadway musical, but I think it does okay to portray what the material was. 3/5
Hairspray (2007) - This is such an upbeat film that has a great message. Fan-freaking-tastic! 4.875943216/5
The Devil Wears Prada - Pretty good film (really reminds me of Ugly Betty a lot of the time) and Meryl is simply wonderful in this role. After seeing Mamma Mia! and then watching this, she is arguably the best actress of our time. 4/5

Batman Forever - I like this one. Yes, Two-Face is all wrong, yes there are parts where Carrey was just Carrey, and yes there was the phrase 'joygasm' but this movie screwed up much less then any of the films in this continuity before or after. Val Kilmer was also the best Batman and Bruce of those films and Bob Kane agreed. It was a smart move making Robin older and Chris O'Donnell was mighty cute back in the day. Alfred had a lot more to do and funny things to say in this one as well! Its just great fun.
Batman & Robin - I don't blame Joel. I blame the Warner executives. Those who were new were horrible casting choices, those who went were fantastic disappointments. There were four good things about the movie.
1. Alfred funny at times and touching in others
2.Freeze's make sift Nora snow globe
3. Eye candy in the form of '97 Chris O'Donnell
4. The part where it ended.
Batman: The Movie (1966) - I was not paying as much attention but there are parts that were nice and parts that were incredibly bad. I wish the show was on DVD so I could get small bursts of Bat-camp.
Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman - This was the first time I saw this. Not great, not bad. Of the 4 Batman DCAU films this is fourth.
The Dark Knight (x3) - You own it to yourself to see this more than once and I need to see it a few more times too!
This Film Is Not Yet Rated - Riveting watch. Astounding how hypocritical and shallow the MPAA of today is.

Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour - Yup. We are having a family reunion of sorts and my cousin's kids made me watch this on TV with 'em. I wanted more Jonas. I like 'em more than Miley but you know it was HER show. Still not something I'd watch more than 3 minutes on most occasions.

Do you have the double future or singles of both? I have the Single of Phantasm AND the double future with Phantasm in fullscreen only and Subzero. I watched it on Disney Channel last night. I was at Walmart yesterday afternoon and remembered about the 3D glasses when I got there but forgot to get them while I was there.
And my Chicken Little glasses aren't the blue & red 3D glasses, so they weren't helpful. But, it was a great show. I saw her in concert in January, so it was nice to relive the experience. And I <3 JB! I really enjoyed watching it!
