It's also mentioned here:
"Lasseter highlighted the ten patents earned by the studio's new technology that gave the film's 3D backgrounds a hand-painted appearance. "But technology never entertains the audience," he quickly added before lauding BOLT's characters as "some of the most entertaining we've ever created."

Last night I dreamt I saw the BOLT teaser trailer!
The colour palette was mostly red and orange, and the trailer featured ... lions! They looked similar to their Lion King counterparts - painted a rather bright yellow. Since BOLT's backgrounds are to have a hand painted appearance, in my dreams the said backgrounds looked like they had the texture of a canvas. That sort of blocky pattern. Most strangely, although in the dream I was supposed to be viewing a CG animated film, after waking up I remember seeing everything in traditional animation.

Not sure if these have been posted, but to be honest I don't really care if they have. But there's some Bolt artwork behind the people.
Byron Howard (director)

Clark Spencer (producer)

Chris Williams (director)

Assuming that is Penny, I can't help feel Miley Cyrus' vocals just don't fit the character.
She is indeed very Lilo-ish, though that wasn't an instant reaction on my part. It's also interesting to see how beautiful Bolt's (the dog) character design is. It may have been regarded as generic a few months ago, but I've got to admit it's inredibly appealing - perhaps even more so than Sanders' design.
Who are the people in the photographs? The first one seems to match someone in my memory. Are they high profile people at Walt Disney Animation Studios (e.g. key animators)?

If I could choose, I think I would still prefer to see the Chris Sanders' version of the movie, but Bolt looks more like a "normal" dog than the first one. He actually looks a bit like a little donkey;

But does bolt look like he "owns" the voice of John Travolta? I could believe so with Sanders design, but this Bolt looks far too young.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I disagree, netty. Actually the new design I think fits Travolta's voice perfectly.
I have to admit it's been a while since I've heard Travolta though.
P.S. That's Chris Williams!?
Wow ... I never thought he looked that way. He looks cool! He seems young too. I doubt he's made it past 35. I thought Byron Howard looked familiar...

Ever since I realized that John Travolta was doing the voice for Bolt, I have felt the same way. Bolt does look young, but I'm sure that once I see the movie, I'll feel that Travolta's voice suits Bolt.2099net wrote:But does bolt look like he "owns" the voice of John Travolta? I don't know, however, if those pictures behind the directors are indeed movie stills. They don't look like concept art either, though, which is baffling. The character designs are all finalised at this point.singerguy04 wrote:I love how many of the pictures don't look CG at all, they look a lot like hand drawn pictures.
