Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Post by Mr. Toad »

Jessica Alba is hot in a wedding dress.

Just watching some of the filming from my office. We have a nice gold painted Middle Eastern type Gazebo and Ms. Alba in a wedding dress.

So far Mr. Toad has not been blinded by any high powered filming lights as he was during filming for Fantastic Four 1.

We now have a helicopter doing some rather strange movements. I am sure it will look a lot better with FX. I dont think this bodes well for Ms. Albas wedding.

Thanks for the updates Mr.Toad! So does this mean that Sue could be getting married in the next Fantastic Four? Maybe the helicopters had to do something with Silver Surfer?

Well her and Rex get married in the comic books dont they. I am trying to think back. More of a DC Man than a Marvel one.

I also lean towards DC. However, I'm a hardcore fan more from movies and television than the actual comics. My comic shop visits have always been more about Disney and Star Wars than anything else. Still, I enjoy a lot of Marvel on film and TV, and really liked the first Fantastic Four movie. Recently picked up a book that collects the first several issues of FF and am looking forward to reading it, because I knew very little about them before seeing the first film. Very much looking forward to the second!

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer on DVD in October

Post by disneyboy20022 »

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/ ... urfer.html

It will be released as a one disc dvd and a 2-disc set.. at the same time!! :o

Also the 2-disc is called The Power Cosmic Edition

Looks like the Blu Ray will contain everything the 2-disc has and some other Blu Ray exclusive content such as Who Dares Defy Galactus multi-player strategy game.... That actually sounds like fun.... better than some of Disney's set top kiddie games on DVD...

They should really have seperate covers for each character with the 1-Disc (à la Sin City). Then I would buy it. For Chris Evans.

On a side note, I love how you're using my nickname for you as your little sign-off thing Scaps.

Scaps is easier to spell, less likely to confuse newbies, and has been personally endorsed by Leonardo DiCaprio as the official online nickname for Albert Gutierrez.

I'll just get the single-disc edition -- it's cheaper and it has two extras (which is much better than nothing). And besides, the cover for the one-disc has the quartet plus the Silver Surfer on it, while the two-disc art makes it look like a Silver Surfer spin-off instead. (Although the single-edition horribly Photoshops Jessica Alba's body to the point of barely recognizing her... ;) )

I'm a bit irritated that the single-disc is a dual-sided disc with a needless foolscreen option, but it's a comfort to know that whichever edition the people buy, they'll get the widescreen version either way. (I am a bit worried that Fox won't include a chapter insert for this movie, despite the fact that Fox almost always includes a chapter insert for the flipper discs and the multi-disc sets.)

Didn't see this in the theater, and honestly didn't hear anything good about it from the people that did. Still I may pickup the 1 disc edition as a blind buy.

I wonder what the Lithograph looks like.

Well, in my opinion, it was much better than the first. The second movie was entertaining and downright hilarious in spots, but the climax involving Galactus and Silver Surfer was horribly anticlimatic. Still, it's much more entertaining than the other Marvel middle-tier movies like Ghost Rider, Elektra and Hulk.

It's worth a blind-buy, provided your expectations are in check and lowered to that of the first movie.

I may wait and see if there are any special deals to buy the extended edition of the first film when buying the second. I watched the first film on HBO or Cinemax @ my parents house and liked it. Saw Silver Surfer in the theatre once and enjoyed it. So, I may buy the DVD and I love extra features, so I'll buy the 2 DISC.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

After seeing this I thought a much more appropriate name would be Rise of a Crappy Movie. I'm definitely skipping out on this one but nonetheless would love to catch the hour-long documentary. Should be interesting to watch, if done properly.

I think the first one is better,Jhoney is annoying and he made me wanna slap him (i everytime i saw him i wanted him to shut up),Sue and Reed are too busy about them selfs,Ben is acting like a slob,The civilans are stupit (the world is about to come to an end and all they care about is what Reed will wear to his wedding!?!?!? and didn't they allready learned that they should never trust Doom?),Only the Silver Surfer was great and Alicia was funny and that too bad becouse i liked all the Four in the first one.
if they're making a sequel-they should just not give Jhoney say a word.
about the DVD-i don't the Marvel DVDs have intersting bounes features,i have Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 and it dosn't have intersting features.

Are you taking about Julian McMahon (aka the nymphomaniac surgeon from Nip/Tuck) as Dr. Doom? Or are you referring to someone else?

Oh, and I think there's one additional extra that'll be on both DVD releases: Deep Discount mentions that there will be a third commentary by director Tim Story and stars Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Julian McMahon, Michael Chiklis and Doug Jones in addition to the two previous commentaries.

Take that with a grain of salt 'till the early reviews confirm or deny the third commentary's existence.

I might get this since Silver Surfer is my favorite superhero.
