Yeah, welcome to the forum. You might want to look around the site some. Release Types Explained would have answered this question for you.

Hi. I think I may have asked this one awhile ago myself. I stumbled on the Limited Edition in a Blockbuster and found it. I was pretty excited. Turned out the Gold were a little easier to find, supposedly. But I had to pick it up!

The limited editions sold so badly that when Disney had to take them of the market they had lots of them left.

Disney did not want to brake a promice, but they did not want to loose money either so they put a new label on all of them.

I myself have the gold edition cover, and the limited edition pressed on the disc of several of them.

Now that you mention that Lars, it seems to me that was the only difference between the two. Needless to say, It was a great trip to the store and when i went into Blockbuster i thought it was a great find! Then I proceeded to other Blockbusters hoping my luck would continue. Ugh, what a pain in the ass. But it worked once, so I guess it was worth the effort!

Yes, and I suppose I should also point out that the Internationalsection shows us a THIRD version of Pinocchio - the remastered one with a few scraps of supplements.

Pinocchio: Special Edition (1940)
Region 2 - UK, Italy, etc. & Region 4 - Australia
- Features brand-new digitally-remastered print
- 1.33:1 Original Aspect Ratio, 5.1 Dolby Digital
- "A Wish Come True" (5-minute making-of featurette)
- "The Search for Jiminy Cricket" (set-top game)
- Original 1940 Trailer (2 minutes)
- Two Sing-Along Songs: "Figaro & Cleo" (1:30) & "Little Wooden Head" (2:10)
- Short Film starring Jiminy Cricket - "I'm No Fool Having Fun" (8 minutes)
- Short Film starring Jiminy Cricket - "I'm No Fool With Fire" (8 minutes)
- Storyboard-to-Film Comparison (4 minutes)
- Easter Egg: "Cap Nat Pluto" Short (6:30)

Hope that is of some help...

The Limited Edition and The Gold Collection Edition are both exactly the same.
