Wow! That was amazing! The sections dealing with promotions were the most fascinating bits. Despite being a little kid who watched way too much TV, I didn't start noticing Disney's ad campaigns until around the time Aladdin came out. The article also put into perspective when I got each film in the collection. I'm surprised to find that my family was really on top of things. I received most of my films from that collection just shortly after their initial releases. Thanks for sharing that with us!

i still have some of these but not many. why did they choice a Black Diamond anyway . after this came the cheap Gold collection which i hate. now we have Platinum which is somewhat good depending on the movie. what are we going to have next for collections anyway?

Actually, there was also the Masterpiece Collection after the Classics. Then things were sketchy with Tarzan on, and the Gold Collection was mostly rereleases save for two movies. Now it's just sort of "we're releasing movies, please buy them". Platinum Collection to me felt "beyond" the normal release, because the first two colections were used for all movies, but Platinum is reserved for special releases.
