Old 1980's Disney Television Special
I am searching for a Disney Television Special that was aired around February 1986 on ABC called Disney's DTV Romancin...Or may have been called Disneys DTV Valentine. Not positive that it was 1986 but its somewhere close to that. If anyone knows where I might be able to obtain a copy of that show it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks So Much..Crystal Cotton

The special was indeed titled "DTV's Valentine Special" originally aired in February of 1986, and renamed as "DTV Romancin" when re-aired in September of 1986. I too, have been looking for a copy of this Valentine Special. Disney has not released these DTV specials on dvd, I belive, due to problems re-obtaining the songs copyrights (which is also why The Wonder Years hasn't been released on dvd).
Here is the track list:
Original Airdate: February 1986, NBC
* Betty Everett: The Shoop Shoop Song
* Stevie Wonder: I Just Called To Say I Love You
* Madonna: Dress You Up
* The Stray Cats: Rock This Town
* Lionel Richie: Hello
* Desiree Goyette: Hey Mickey
* Elton John & Kiki Dee: Don't Go Breaking My Heart
* From "Lady and the Tramp": Bella Notte
* Elvis Presley: Teddy Bear
* The Eurythmics: There Must Be an Angel Playing With My Heart
* From "Sleeping Beauty": Once Upon a Dream
* Huey Lewis & The News: The Heart of Rock 'n' Roll
* The Contours: Do You Love Me
* From "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs": Someday My Prince Will Come
* Whitney Houston: You Give Me Good Love
They also did a second special in 1987 entitled "DTV's Doggone Valentine Special". I have this one on tape.
I've checked Youtube, and various other places, but I haven't had any luck so far. If anyone could help us that would be great!

I remember that special, but I don't have it. And don't forget, the DTV series is never released on DVD because of copyright problems. YouTube as lots of Disney music videos from the TV show "DTV" for years.DisneyPrincess wrote:The special was indeed titled "DTV's Valentine Special" originally aired in February of 1986, and renamed as "DTV Romancin" when re-aired in September of 1986. You know, I don't remember much about the DTV Valentine special, but I remember the DTV golden oldies video I bought years ago. I watched it recently and found clips from vaulted cartoons like Der Furer's face and Scrooge Mcduck's "Money". It was fun to see how the studios opened the vault for these clips that could be shown out of context and rather innocent. I imagine the other DTV specials could have the same.
