Flight Of The Navigator DVD
I sure do wish that Disney WOuld Take Flight Of The Navigator out of the vault and put it out on Disney Special Edition DVD. I know that I recieved this link from a friend telling where you could get the movie on dvd.
http://www.dvdbrazil.com/comersus/store ... roduct=614
But I think that it is a fake. Honestly. I mean it is Region 0 arn't most region 0 DVD"S Not legitamite. I hope that DIsney will put it out on DVD. I don't even own the Now OOP Vhs Version. But I have always loved the movie and I want to see it on DVD so Myself and Everbody Else can own a copy.

No you´re wrong I think.
I don´t think this is a fake.
Actually there is some region free DVDs out there and they are not all fakes.
And remember:
This film is not made by Disney and not distributed by Disney in every country in the world. If there is another company who have the rights to it in Brazil or whatever this DVD comes from, there is a possibility that this company chose to make their DVDs region free.

i am a horror movie fan and troma is one movie label that releases all their movies region 0 or region code free. i posted that link in the first place and here is another one
LOOK IN BOTTOM LEFT HAND CORNER OF THIS PAGE
i imagined that alot of movies released localy in brazil might be region free so they don't have to put so many different region codes on there as some brazil discs are appearently r2/r4. i was wondering if most brazilian player play 2 and 4 or some just 2 and some just 4 or if all their players are region free. my player is region free so it doesn't matter to me.

I take it you don't own a mulit-region player?
Because FOTN is available in the UK on DVD (where it is not a Disney release).

I used to love this flick as a lad, but I wonder if it would have the same appeal now?

Flight Of The Nagivator DVD
Special features: Interactive menu, chapter selection, biographies, filmographies, theatrical trailer.
Hope this helps.
The UK disc is widescreen and enhanced for 16:9 televisions. It's also unlikely Disney in the US will go all out for a special edition of Flight of the Navigator, as they only distribute the film - they had no financial or creative interest in the actual making of the film.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

That information is incorrect. Disney did indeed make the film. It was their 169th theatrical film, according to Disney's A-Z Encyclopedia.

I will copy the entry for the film when I get home.

If that's true, then it shows what a sorry state Disney as a movie studio was in the mid 80's. This film has masses of co-production and distribution deals.
It's unusual for Disney to make something where they have so little marketing (and one would assume) creative control.

That is NOT true.
This is not a Disney feature.
It´s listed in that book due to that Disney sometimes count in bought films, produced by other studios.
You find the same with
Benji the Hunted
Can´t Buy Me Love
mostly of the Hollywood Pictures
and many many more.
They are counted in Disney´s theatrical list, but are NOT mad e by DIsney, just distributed by them!

Now I can only hope it lives up to my childhood recollections....

As I wrote before
Just because you see a film listed on Disney´s page or in Mr. Smiths or Mr. Maltins books, that doesn´t mean that the film is MADE by Disney.
It indicates that the film is distributed or bought by Disney and in some cases are counted into Disney´s movielist.
And I know that Can´t Buy Me Love is a Touchstone release, but since that is Disney as well, I mentioned it here!

Where's the proof that this film was not financed, by Disney. Or that the Executive Producers were not employees of Disney. That's all it takes for the film to be "made" by Disney. Many films that Disney "makes" are not actually made by one of the Disney owned studios. Many of Disney's films are made by Dimention, Pixar, or other studios. They aren't owend by Disney, but if Disney finances, or Produces the film, then it belongs to Disney. And by the way, Hollywood Pictures IS owned by Disney.
