Amen to that. To me all that merchandise killed it's magic for me alittle bit because of the MASS overexposure of seeing it on every freaking scene kid on the planet. Wear a t-shirt or two! Dont wear Jack on shoes, pants, bag, hat, and freaking underwear!

.... I have two pairs of boxers :| Not to mention a lot of other stuff. But what can I say? I'm a guy who LOVES merchandise (I like being able to SCREAM that I'm a fan of something) and I've been a fan since the movie came out way back when too
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Without all the merchandise, they probably would not be re-releasing it. So it is a mixed blessing, but a blessing none the less.

I too am hoping I get to see it, but I don't believe it will be in IMAX. This will be the Disney Digital 3d system that they used with Chicken Little last year. Call your local theatres and ask - it WILL be limited.

oooh, I see..hm.. Is there any way to see which theaters supported chicken little in 3D? I'm assuming it will be (mostly) the same theaters for TNBC. I hope there is one near me! I don't remember seeing Chicken Little advertised in 3D here...but we'll see :)

I don't believe that this will be released to IMAX theatres across the country. We have an IMAX theatre about less than a mile from where I live, and I inquired as to whether they would be showing it this fall. The manager informed me that they wouldn't be showing it at all. He then went on to say something about it not being the "proper format" or something, but I've no idea what he means. I suppose Disney 3-D is different than your average 3-D format? :? Does anyone know what the difference is? This is really sad for me because The Nightmare Before Christmas has been one of my favorite movies since I was a child! I distinctly remember seeing it twice in the theatre when I was younger :(

Nightmare is being shown in Disney Digital 3-D. This is not IMAX, and CANNOT BE SHOWN IN IMAX. It is not printed on IMAX FILM. In fact it is not being printed at all.

Disney Digital 3-D is a process that is shown using an Ultra-High-Definition film projector manufactured by Texas Instruments
under the banner DLP (Digital Light Projection) no actual film is involved with the process. The film will be shown using a digital extreme high-definition file. So the entire process is Digital. Many movie theatres are not equipped with this process. The REGAL theatre chain is one of the only theatre chains that supports this process fully. So if you have a large REGAL Cinema by you, you are more likely to have it shown.

The film is being converted to 3-d using an advanced rotoscoping technology. Lowry Digital is doing the 3-D version.
They rotoscope every tiny detail on the film, and then choose the distance away from the audience member. Then the farther away the object is, the more it looks like regular film. However, if the object is supposed to poke out at you the items are duplicated and slid over. So you see two items at once. The glasses refocus your eyes, and make you see one object, but gives you the illusion of depth. Hope this helps.

Lowry also restored the film completely before it was converted to 3-D, so now the film should be a delicious piece of eye candy.

There is only one theatre showing it around where I live in downtown Knoxville, TN, where the REGAL cinemas head office is.

Good luck finding a theatre near you. If Chicken Little played in 3-D by you, so will this. If it didn't...neither will this. And remember...it cannot and will not be shown in IMAX. It has nothing to do with it. Hope this helps!

I have a regal cinema an hour away from where I live. I saw "Superman Returns" in 3-D on their Imax screen and they also have a digital screen. They got "Chicken Little" in 3-D AND when I saw Superman they had the teaser poster for TNBC in 3-D. I'm very excited. I've seen movies on digital screens before, but never in digital 3-D. I can't wait!

I know the AMC at Downtown Disney is playing it because I heard it on the radio. I don't know any other places though. You can probably kind out a place by you by going to the Yahoo Movie Site.

Looks like I'll be buying it from Best Buy, although I'm not happy about Marilyn Manson being on it. I don't like his music at all.

To fellow Floridians: The Regal Waterford Lakes 20 is playing it. That's about 20 minutes from Oviedo.

no theatre in my state is playing it. One is the local theatre chain that's a monopoly and does not want national chains in town to compete and the other is an actual national chain in the city an hour away from my city and they don't even have it (and its AMC theatre!).
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.
