Brother Bear- 9.1/10
I loved this movie, it was so sad though, it was the first time I've seen it, and I was nearly crying at the scene where Kenai is telling Koda what happened to his mom, and he backs away and says, "I don't like this story"......
I also became really sad when Sitka died, and when Koda sayed goodbye to his Mother's spirit. This was a great Disney movie, but sad, I don't cope very well with death, especially with the death of a parent, I get very sad in Bambi and TLK aswell.
Maybe if I see Brother Bear 2 I will get some closure....I just want Koda to have a mother again

I watched Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story with my friend last night.
We laughed the whole way though. White Goodman is the greatest. Probably Ben Stiller's best character ever (besides Derek Zoolander). I love those midless but hilarious frat boy comedies. 9/10

Watched United 93 and it really made me cry. I really liked this film a lot, and think that watching this and "World Trade Center" really make you proud to be an American. We are strong and resilient, and nothing can get us down. "United 93" used unknowns as actors and it was just amazing, as it is done in real time, and then the extras has a documentary of the real families of the real people depicted on this flight. Just a very good, emotionally-involving film.

Saw "Dukes of Hazzard" this morning for the first time since watching it at a friend's house when it came out on DVD. I seriously want to buy this movie. I know it took a lot of crap when it came out (even when just the trailer came out), but I find it MOSTLY really fun and funny. Knoxville and Scott usually crack me up, and they carry the movie, along with the hot girls (especially the one that makes Bo faint) and a great soundtrack that is. I've always been a little upset with the bad-guy casting though. I grew up a big fan of the TV show, so I wanted it to be a little more loyal. They got a lotta stuff right, but the cast of Hogg and the cops was just weird. Reynolds is good in the role, but I was dying to see Danny DeVito in that part, ha. Enice (sp?) and Roscoe didn't remind me of the old ones at all. I also think Jessica Simpson should have gone brunette for this one, not that I'm not waaaay into blondes, but I do like for these "remake" sorta things to look more like the original characters.

Hmm... i watched United 93 in a theatre about 1 month and half ago here in Malta. I was simultaneously satisfied and disappointed. The last half of the film was top notch, in that it really captured the suspense and fianl terror. But I found the first half to be painfully dragging. It almost gave me a state of nerves! I was almost angry by the time the words "INTERMISSION!!" flashed on the screen. But the second half more than made up for it.dvdjunkie wrote:Watched United 93 and it really made me cry. However, in the theatre I was watching it in, there was an issue with picture quality. The colours of the movie were totally washed. The picture was very grainy, and had a lot of dirt and noise. It almost felt like I was watching VHS on a big screen. But then, I suppose the theatres in Malta are all subpar, compared with what a theatre should really be.

I must be living under a rock because I watched for the first ever Fast Times at Ridgmont High and laughed myself silly. This is one funny movie and Sean Penn is hilarious, and Phoebe Cates can eat crackers in my bed any time.

I saw Beerfest today before it left our theater. It is possibly the dumbest film of the year, it's crude, it's stupid... I loved it.

After the terrible Club Dread and Dukes of Hazzard, Broken Lizard has bounced back to retarded nyuk nyuk comedy with Beerfest. While not as funny as Super Troopers or Office Space, Beerfest gives its own share of funny gross out gags, cheap sophomoric giggles and goofy o0ne liners to deliver one damn funny movie. Looking back, the only two things I would change about it were its running time, and Cloris Leachman's scenes. I ususally love her, but here it was just tiring. Still, Beerfest is worth checking out if you're in the mood for lowbrow comedy.
Beerfest 7/10
Cheers,
JM

Yeah, the first time I watched this movie: at the begining I was like ok this rocks. Then at the middle when they were heading to the salmon run I was like "ok yeah, this is fun." Then when they get to the turning point (where all the bears are telling stories about interesting things that happened to them that year) I was like "oh s&$*," but at least I know why he was turned into a bear. I loved this movie, movie's with these kinds of plots (you know where it surprises you at the end) are the best. Except now that you know what happens you don't get as much of the effect the next time as you would watching it the first time. However, in Brother Bear; I watched this movie over and over again I watch it almost every night (I love it so much) but you don't lose the effect it's still there. That's why Brother Bear IMO is such a great movie. I was kind of sad too because I've just learned that the guy who voiced Denahi (Jason Raize) killed himself almost a year after this movie came out. I don't know why he did it but this movie was the first and last movie that he did. I thought he did a good job.joshthesim26 wrote:Brother Bear- 9.1/10I loved this movie, it was so sad though, it was the first time I've seen it, and I was nearly crying at the scene where Kenai is telling Koda what happened to his mom, and he backs away and says, "I don't like this story"......

I have been pretty busy lately but have been catching bits of "Red Eye" on TV regularly. I've seen the whole thing before though, and it's pretty good. Nothing spectacular. That little girl on the plane is weird, ha. Oh, but I'm really developing a crush on the redhead that is in charge of the hotel while Rachel McAdams is on the plane.
Also, while I was working the other day I had Hocus Pocus on for background noise. That is simply the best Halloween movie ever, but I can watch it any time and I NEVER get tired of that movie! Great movie! Should have been a huge hit at the movies. What a shame that it didn't get popular until the repeat Disney Channel airings. I remember going to see this one in theaters!
