1 movie your most excited to see from now till years end?

The summer flicks are all but done, and now we are looking foward to FALL 06, and WINTER 06 movies. There a lot of movies people are talking about, but the movie I am extreamly excited to see in theathers is HOLLYWOODLAND (which could get a best picture nod). This movie looks so good, and I am not a fan of SUPERMAN at all!! The movie trailer gives me the chills everytime i see it, and the acting looks oscar worthy! So I have to say this is the one movie I am looking foward to! What is the one movie you can not wait to see from now till years end?? Post it, and share why?

Here's a list of some of the movies I'm looking forward to from now until year's end:

School For Scoundrels - Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Heder, Todd Phillips. I'm in stupid comedy heaven.

The Prestige - Christopher Nolan got my attention with Batman Begins, and now that he's re-teaming with Bale and they've brought Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johannsen along with them, this is one I can't miss.

Stranger Than Fiction - What looks like Will Ferrell's first serious role (or close to it) in what looks like a story straight from Charlie Kaufman's mind could be what is to be my favorite film of the year. Praying it doesn't get screwed up.

The Pursuit of Happyness - I'm a sucker for stories about the down and out underdog, and with Will Smith involved I have high hopes. Then again, at the same time, it looks like it could easily be the hokiest movie of the year if handled wrong.

Children of Men - Seeing the trailer, it's another film that could be ruined easily if handled in the wrong way, but Alfonso Cauron hasn't let me down yet, and the plot intrigues me.

Out of all of these, I'd say Stranger Than Fiction is the one out of all of these I'm looking forward to the most. If the film is half as good as the trailer is, I'd say we're in business.

I thought this thread was about the one movie you wanted to see the most.

For me, the movie I'm most looking forward to that's yet to be released is The Nativity Story. I'm a big fan of Jesus films and loved watching them even before becoming a Christian. After The Passion of the Christ came out, I was hoping Mel would do a prequel focusing on the Nativity since that lends itself perfectly to film. While I'm mildly disappointed that Mel decided to do Apocalypto instead, I'm glad that a film about Christ's nativity is being made. Jesus films that cover His whole life tend to gloss over and condense both the Naitivty and the Passion. We finally got a film that told Christ's passion detail by detail, now we finally get to see one that tells of His nativity the same way. The fact that the cast is of Middle Eastern descent impresses me and will help chip away the glossy notion that Mary and Joseph were middle-aged Caucasians with technicolor robes, witnessing Jesus' birth in a picturesque stable.

The other two films I'm looking forward to are Hollywoodland (yay for film noir based on a true story and Superman-related!) and Charlotte's Web (yay for films based on classic children's novels!).

My most anticipated film to see in theaters the rest of 2006, isn't even a new film as I want to see Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D most. Seeing that I have a wish to see all my favorite films on the big screen(and in some cases, again), and this is one of my favorites, plus add the fact it's in 3D I definetely want to see this. Though I don't know how 13 year old film will quite work in 3D, I have faith in Burton.

Flushed Away: 5 reasons to see this movie:

1. It makes fun of Finding Nemo.

2. It's created by Aardman, the amazing studio that brought us the 2 animated masterpieces that are "Chicken Run" and "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit".

3. It makes fun of Finding Nemo.

4. It looks similar to a Pixar film because as Loomis would say, "It's a hidden world film". But, it still looks like there are a lot of original concepts that have yet to be done being done in this film, and it looks like a very humorous film. I guess I'll go "into the vaults" just for thinking this, but it could be better reviewed and win the "Animated Film Oscar" instead of Cars(I could care less about either to be honest, but I like it when I occasionally agree with them).

5. Did I mentioned It makes fun of Finding Nemo???

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause: I have a couple of flaws judging the trailer, because of the whole concept of 'The Escape Clause'. But, Tim Allen and most of the cast returns, plus the whole idea of Jack Frost sounds kinda cool imo, plus Martain Short was a great choice, plus add to the fact I'll want to see a Christmas film around this time, I'm fairly excited for it.

And... unless I'm missing something that would interest me, that's it.

Looks like a good movie but Ashton Kutcher is the only reason why I don't want to see it.
Kevin Costner is one of the best actors from last decade that didn't come out in a promising role this decade.

Mel Gibson directed this film but who cares what he did last two weeks with his drinking and driving.

I was going to say the same thing! I haven't seen Passion of the Christ yet, but hopefully I'll see it before this comes out, or maybe after. Also, this will probably be a movie my mom will actually come and see it with us in theaters.

I'm pretty sure most people from my area will go and see this movie, especially the Eagles Fans! Actually, the real Vince Papale lives in the town next to us (okay, maybe two towns over). My cousin was supposed to be an extra in the movie since they filmed in Philly, but he ended up not being able to do it.

Personally, I've got guarded optimism for <i>The Santa Clause 3</i> and decent hopes for <i>A Night at the Museum</i>. There are some other serious films that should be good, too, but for me, the fun in anticipation doesn't really factor as much for those.

Wow, so many to choose from. I can't pick just one, sorry. Bridge to Terabithia, The Black Dahlia, Scoop, 2:37, Jumper, Decmber Boys, Flushed Away, The Libertine, L'Enfant, The Santa Clause 3, Happy Feet, A Good Year, Little Miss Sunshine, Snakes on a Plane, The Prestige, Marie Antoinette, Eragon, and American Gangster have all excited me, but half of them are probably not in the timeframe that the thread specified though. Some are Australian, some are on DVD, but most are to be released, that most of you guys already know, or would have heard of. The Black Dahlia looks soooooo cool, it has Jenny from The L Word in it! Otherwise known as Mia Kirshner.
