Arnt Disney just gonna use this on future live action movies, and then countinue to use the 2D logo for the future 2d movies, and the animated 3d logo for CGI movies...? That would be a great soulution...

Of course. That's what should be done. The old logo should be kept for all the movies that originally sported it (including Chicken Little).

But it was based on the original logo. Granted...it was in CGI, but you could see that the form of the castle was inspired from the 2D version of the logo.

If you compare Chicken Little's logo to that of POTC: Dead Man's Chest, you'll see that the design of the latter is contrasting to the former.

Likewise, the Pixar-generated Disney logo in the beginning of the Pixar films, is a modified version of the old logo, due to the fact that it's in CGI. However, I classify it with the old logo, as I do with Chicken Little's.

Julian, those of you have seen the movie "Inspector Gadget 2" with a metalic version of the Walt Disney Pictures logo with the original 1985 music added in the background. I've seen it on the Disney Channel last year, but I've never seen it on WPIX-TV (channel 11) over the weekend. "Inspector Gadget 2" was shown on a number of local stations around the area including New York City. It also had a new Buena Vista Television logo with just plan white. "Inspector Gadget 2" had a special logo open than the first one which was much the same. Keep in mind that there are a number of TV stations in my area are carried Disney movies in a number of syndication movie packages. Most of them had the original logo in place.

(In IG, when the metallic logo formed, it then proceeded to blow up and start falling apart, and the movie went on to the opening credits. In IG 2, after the logo had formed, the camera just zoomed out on it, and we found ourselves looking at a billboard, and Inspector Gadget fooling around the place It had no opening credits).

I can't wait to see this logo in the theater. I have been very excited since I first heard about it a while back. I know Disney went all out with an orchestra and everything for this logo. Speaking of special logos, didn't The Lizzie McGuire Movie have a special logo?

Thanks Julian, I didn't see IG2 this past weekend on WPIX-TV (channel 11) in New York City. There are so many TV stations in many areas are running Disney films that are still part of the syndicated film packages. All of them has their original logo in place.

Julian, those of you haven't seen the end of "Inspector Gadget 2" on numerous local TV stations, they do have a new Buena Vista Television logo after the credits. WPIX-TV or many of these stations that are running Disney films for syndication. They did had one after IG2. Here it is.

However, the shooting star used to fly in a different way. The trail was not animated. Instead, little stars popped out on it in sequence, to signify a passing light, accompanied by a tinkling sound. It's still nice though.

Yes! That's the one I remember. It was at the end of "Duck Tales", the syndicated "Wonderful World of Disney" and a number of shows like "Win, Lose or Draw" where it says "Buena Vista Television" where they shouldn't left the tinkling sound on while the theme music still plays at the end. Something more to add about the new Buena Vista Television logo; in international territories, it's a little different (or at least it is at the end of the most recent episodes of Scrubs being shown on the British channel E4 now). Instead of a rather space like setting, it's a calmer version of the old logo, only with the castle blue and background white.

I've never seen this one. I used to catch the old BV logo on Italian TV, as I live in Malta. On the Rai channels, they used to have a program in Italian called "Disney Club". I don't know if it's still produced. During their programming, that logo showed up, once or twice.

I in fact happen to know what Kim Possible is due to that Italian program. I watched a couple of episodes (dubbed in Italian, of course), they were quite entertaining...

Something I just relized that would make the logo even better, is I just remembered that Disney is taking over The Nightmare Before Christmas (from TouchStone) for the new 3D release, so it's very possible that this logo could be in full 3D at the start of it. Unfortunatly, there's no digital theatres around here (all the ones in Canada are now within a 2 hour drive of each other), so I would be able to see it, but what about IMAX 3D, that would be the absolutly awesome!!

Julian Carter, don't forget, WPIX-TV (Channel 11 which is soon to be a CW station where the WB is leaving starting September) is showing "George of the Jungle 2" at 8:00 PM tonight for those of you are not in the NYC area. They have the original logo there including a special opening with George hitting the old castle. I have a copy of that movie taped off the Disney Channel at one time. That is kinda of a logo spoof where George was swinging and it got smacked into the old castle. That was kinda funny.

I'm afraid I can't watch it, as I've never heard of a channel called WPIX-TV. I don't know what it consists of, but is it an American TV Channel? Because in that case, I don't think it would be available in large amounts in Europe. I've certainly never heard of it being available from the TV service providers here in Malta.

I'm getting a feeling, though, that these channels, that you've been mentioning, have something to do with digital TV. In that case, it would be even more impossible for me to view them, even if they were available in Malta. It's because about 90% of the population in my country still use analogue TV. About 10 years ago, we used to utilise a TV antenna on top of the house, which managed to receive the local free-to-air channels. Then, a cable TV provider showed up, called "Melita Cable PLC". The picture quality was better than that of the traditional antenna, but it was still analogue, and the sound was monologue.

At my home, we have this system. Unfortunately, as the years passed, Melita Cable, finding no competition, raised their prices sky high, and the quality got worse, about on par with the original antenna.

With all today's advanced technology, we were still treated with MONO sound.

Then last year, a new company showed up, called "Multiplus". It provides Digital TV, with better picture quality, and stereo sound. Melita soon started providing digital TV aswell, along with the analogue service.

However, digital TV prices are very high, from both comapnies, and we can't afford them.

So for now, we're doomed with a mediocre picture and mono sound, provided by "Melita", the "leaders in home entertainment", as their commercials say...
