OH Man! I'm going to be the last UD member to watch POTC: Dead Man's Chest. I'm going to watch it this Saturday, I promise.

Yeaaaah, anyways... I watched The Italian Job, I like this movie because it has a well thought out plot but my dad likes it because of the Mini Coopers. So I guess this is a movie that everyone can enjoy.

I watched Almost Famous. I didn't really like it, wasn't really my type of movie, I didnt even know what it was about before I watched it, just heard it was good.

I watched We're Back yesterday. I never liked it as a kid but I thought I might now, and I didn't particularly. It was still an okay movie though.

I just tried watching Waxwork, but it was pretty cheesy so I just shut it off. Now I'm watching Murder By Numbers.

A couple of days ago I started watching 'Oliver!', but then I was interrupted and couldn't continue.

Last night my mom and I watched An Officer and a Gentleman, which was really good. And yesterday and today I watched Hercules on Toon Disney, I'll never get sick of that movie.

Question of the day.........why watch a movie on a tv channel with commercials, when you have it on DVD and can pop it in and enjoy completely, unedited and with no commercial annoyances? Just asking......

Watched Grand Prix - 2-Disc Special Edition, John Frankenheimer's classic racing film that has some of the best race scenes every filmed to this day. James Garner, Eva Marie Saint, Yves Montand, Toshiru Mifune and Brian Bedford, along with a bunch of Formula One drivers of that day, bring this story to life. The love triangle is very schmaltzy, but thank goodness for the fast forward or skip button, so we can get on with the racing. The second disc has tons of extras, and is well worth the price ($14.99). Highly recommended.

Finished watching it and it was really good. I watched the beginning while I was on the computer so I missed most of it and then watched the end with my full attention so then I had to go back and watch the beginning over again because I had to see what happened.

I also watched Gia, and although Angelina Jolie is great, I didn't really enjoy the movie too much. I think I'm gonna end up watching Waxwork again and pay attention this time.

I watched "United 93" yesterday in a theatre. I found the first half pure torture as it was so dragging. I had a bit of suspense...but it completely destroyed it.

But the second hslf was all right. My only complaint is that I wish the story didn't end like that.

But that couldn't be avoided by the film-makers of course, as this was a true story regarding the September 11 attacks.

Sometimes, you get attached to someone in a movie for no real reason, and for me, in "United 93", it was the blonde stewardess with the round eyes. There was something that made me feel for her in a way. Maybe because she looked so nice and sweet. I didn't want her to die at the end of the movie.

Maybe what I'm saying is naive, but still, I can't help feeling those things when viewing a movie like this. It's sad.

Ha. I haven't seen that, but when I used to go renting at my old-favorite video store, they always had a copy of it. Just think- I could have rented it, but passed up the chance instead to rent Evil Dead 2 two times. I wanted to see it again to make sure it was as bad as it was the first time I saw it. So then I brought it back, and before I got a chance to rent out Waxwork - they closed and the building was taken over by a Pawn Shop. I was crushed. They had this excellent deal where you could rent 4 non-new releases, keep them 5 nights, and only pay $6. A 4-5-6 deal. And they really had quite a decent horror section. They even had the decency to separate the horror films from the thrillers. At Blockbuster, stuff like Time Cop and Demolition Man would be sitting next to Pumpkinhead or Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes (obviously not in that order, since they were alphabetized).

1992, not that old. You sure picked a good one. Directed by Peter Jackson - back when he used to make great movies (actually his career has always been really sketchy, since 89's Meet the Feebles - YUCK!!!!!!!!!!), and the finale of the most prolific trilogy of splatter films in the horror genre. And I hope you got the Unrated version (although, to much collective chagrin - there are 2 Unrated versions - U.S. and International, the International is over 1 hour 40 minutes and has more character scenes as well as some more gore, I hear). And this is by far the goriest movie I've ever seen. Makes The Evil Dead look like Leave It to Beaver. Anyway, it's definitely a horror movie. What do you call a movie where during one 20+ minute scene, blood is shed at a rate that actually set a World Record in filmmaking? In fact, something like 75% of the budget went into special effects. And it shows. But it's a very fun movie. Horror does not mean scary. That's why there is a difference between Horror movies and Scary movies, as Scream illustrated so well.

Me - I watched (for the first time):

Cemetery Man (1994) - very entertaining, beautiful movie! A-
Open Water (2004) - shames the Blair Witch Project! A+
The Church (1989) - really weird! People get trapped in the church and while a couple are killed in strange ways, most of them sort of float away (only way to describe it). Very unsatisfying, bad story, horrible make-up effects. C-

NO! NO! No!

You turned down Buffyverse TV movies, but said "yes" to this? It may pay more, but YOU HAVE SOLD YOUR SOUL. Get Joss on speed-dial right now and beg for a Willow TV movie. Act in it for free if you have to. Do anything to have a sharp, intelligent, witty and emotional script. Do anything to be saying Joss' dialogue again.

In addition to seeing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest a second time and Tsotsi, for which I'll have a review coming soon, I also recently caught:

Nanny McPhee - This was definitely channeling Mary Poppins, but it was still very charming in a similar manner but to a lesser degree. I don't see good British fantasy like this often enough, so it was nice to see it in a new movie. Plus, Angela Lansbury back on the big screen =

(and wow, her acting plus her makeup make her almost unrecognizable).

Stuck in the Suburbs - Probably the worst DCOM I have seen. Silly story, terrible dialogue, and just generally not very interesting. All this is said even with DCOM standards in mind. This was obviously made for the young tween girl market.

Last night I watched Anastasia, which I love, and The Land Before Time 2. I haven't seen it in a few years but I still remembered a lot of the lines from the movie. It's definitely a little kids movie, though. It was one of my favorites as a kid but I just wasn't as entertained now.

Well, I lied... I said I was going to watch POTC on Saturday but because the golf course was soo busy, I couldn't make it. So my friends and I went to watch Superman Returns instead and it was a very good movie. I especially like how they incorperate the original theme song to it... that was awesome.

Considering my low expectations, it wasn't really bad at all.

I watched Clerks with my mom a few nights ago.

That was a bad choice.

She liked Mallrats, though, but still hasn't seen the end - I only have the Clerks DVD because I had to return the Mallrats disc that stops with fifteen minutes remaining.
