Slight raise.

Kind of wishing that A) my <i>Stick It!</i> prediction was made in time to count and B) I hadn't raised <i>The Wild</i> on the day before its release.

<b>Important Note</b>: To keep the playing field even, this Thursday will be the deadline to predict <i>Cars</i>. After all, with so many thousands of people holding tickets to see the movie this Friday (including at least two UD forum members), it's only fair that we keep the predictions a film-unseen educated guess. Besides, with the growing range that has come to be associated with CG-animated films, this should keep things interesting.

This:  , but you must share it with TheSequelofDisney who made a "clever" reply like this a while back!

Part of me wants to lower my prediction but whenever I've made a change, my gut instinct has tended to be more accurate. So I'll stick with it. For everyone else, you've got less than 12 hours to revise or make your <b>Cars</b> guesstimates.

I guess I was a little suprised. Maybe we should have done an opening day prediction also on cars, (I had 19.8 as my guess at home). Anyway,
BoxofficeGuru is predicting a 64-65m weekend now that the Friday numbers are in.

Heres to cheering for CARS...

65m OW and a 301m total (hopefully)

I know this is off-topic for this year's thread, but what movies are we going to be predicting for 2007's thread? Are:

Bridge to Terabithia (2/16/07)
Wild Hogs (3/2/07)
Meet The Robinsons (3/30/07 - still think that date will change!)
POTC3 (5/25/07)
Ratatouille (6/29/07)
Underdog (8/3/07)
Enchanted (11/2/07)

...the only ones we know for sure right now??? It seems to me that more need to be added in there eventually - that doesn't seem like a full year's line-up to me.
Disneyland Trips: 1983, 1992, 1995, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, Aug 2018
Walt Disney World Trips: 1999, 2007, 2011, 2014, 2016, ~Dec 2018~, ~Apr 2019~
Favorite Disney Movies: Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, Enchanted, FROZEN

<i>Wild Hogs</i> is Touchstone, but the other six are the only confirmed 2007 Disney releases. <i>Swiss Family Robinson</i> could sneak in there too. Even if it does, it's a light line up, at least compared to recent years. But then again, there's a higher percentage of blockbusters to that lot.

I suppose we could add <i>Nightmare Before Christmas</i>'s 3-D IMAX release to the 2006 mix, but such a limited venue might be too difficult to predict.

It seems to me that they need a Holiday release in December!

And another movie could sneak in between Underdog and Enchanted.

Yesterday I saw Cars a second time and saw the trailer for Invincible. If they go ahead and market it similarly to their other sports films-sneak preview the week before w/ big Disney movie (POTC ;) ) playing for free afterwards, lots of TV and online publicity, good WOM- I could see it pushing about $65-70 million. Also, now that POTC is set in stone as a PG-13 film, I can make my final prediction on that too.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest- $365 million
Invincible- $67.5 million

Luke, aren't you going to end predictions for POTC: DMC tomorrow like you did with Cars? Because the World Premiere is at Disneyland tomorrow.

But it's not open to the general public, is it? I mean UD couldn't even get in, so I'm assuming it's strictly limited to invites and broadcast/international media.

It's probably got at least another two or three weeks left. Disney's tracking has it doing very well in cheap theaters the last two weeks.
