The gift set contains the EXACT same version with a few extra gubbins...
Maybe the gift set doesn't have that all-important-can't-live-without-reason-for-buying-DVD-in-the-first-place-and-if-it's-ruined-or-even-worn-out-in-a-corner
-it-will-make-baby-Jesus-cry Slipcover?

Honestly, it's normal to choose to buy the gift set because you love the movie more and the gift set offers more. It's just a waste of money to buy the gift set, ALONG with a regular copy of the movie. What's to be gained by having two copies of the movie for yourself?

If there is a gift set for "The Little Mermaid", I'll buy it. I have the gift sets for "Cinderella", "Aladdin", and "The Lion King", and see no reason not to get one for "The Little Mermaid" if it's available. However, I won't buy a regular copy of the movie too. I don't see the point of that.

I WISH there was one for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST that's My favorite from all of them. And like someone else said I didn't buy the Lion king one so I just decied not to buy them all I know that's kind of stupid but...In some way I feel if I have one in a gift set it looks EXTRA special and my other one that I like more won't look as special and.. YEAH... :D

Neither do I. People say they buy them to sell them but then they don't (you know who you are). :P

I don't know. TLM is my favorite disney movie, but I guess it depends on whats in it and how spiffy looking the packaging is. I'm a sucker for things like that even after all my advertising classes have explained why I shouldn't be lol. I don't have any of the other ones so I guess I'll see when it gets here.

i'd definitely buy the giftset if they come out with one of the little mermaid.
I have the The Lion King giftset right now, and the Aladdin & Cinderella gift sets are on it's way. I do have the Little Mermaid 1 & II on DVD already, but i'd still get the giftset. I have the Cinderella regular (Platnium edition), on DVD as well as Aladding 2 disc SE, not sure why, but I like getting both the regular editions & giftsets. I guess it serves as a "backup" just incase something happened to them.

The Little Mermaid

...The Collectors Boxsets are awesome and I'm guessing educatingly that
yes, there will be a Box for Little Mermaid & also for The Jungle Book.

But buy two everyone!

One that you can let your kids play with & the other to keep mint n fresh
to appreciate for years to come.

And besides, Ultimate Disney said there wil be the other day along with
other zany Mermaid merchandise.

Hooray!

I'm actually thinking of getting the Gift Set. This is one of the two Disney movies I actually grew up with so I think I deserve to treat myself with the Gift Set.

Doesn't anyone have any doubts for a Gift Set? Knowing Disney I think they might do something weird and there might not be a Gift Set or a very CHEAP of a set.

I haven't bought any of the Disney DVDs as "Gift Sets". Apart from the DVD, what's in them, roughly?

I should have known you had answers such as these ready.

Obvious must-haves, I'm sure, for some of those who appreciate nice cardboard and paper. And I can understand and respect that - with a pretty nice collection of Disney-related books I tend to appreciate such things myself sometimes.

Then there's the question - is there anything of "substance" here that I can't find elsewhere, or do they just look "neat"? Not sure yet.

At least the one for Cinderella could look somewhat interesting...

Gift Sets

Its fun getting the little book & the little animation film strip thing.

I imported Snow White from the UK which came in a book so it all started with that.

But for some reason Beauty & The Beast didn't have a fun gift pack just that boring fold out one from the UK that I have.

Little Mermaid deserves a fun little book & little animation film strip thing.
