I just thought that I'd mention this, but I am NOT getting excited...
Amazon have changed my order to show a shipping date of March 7-March 16, 2006. I don't know why they would suddenly change this, but it is interesting.
On another note, they have deleted all the "reviews" from the page of this DVD. Strange they would do this... ?

They're showing up for me now. Though "reviews" does belong in quotes as it's basically become a message board for people to speculate over a release date, provide unsubstantiated "inside info" of when to expect it, complain about the placeholder 2010 release date, mock those who complained over the placeholder, and advertise non-official Disney park DVDs.Tony wrote:On another note, they have deleted all the "reviews" from the page of this DVD. Of course, I know you'll keep us informed if you do end up with the disc. I'm starting to suspect it may never see the light of day and that'd be a shame. But Amazon has been quick to remove items that are deleted from their system altogether (<i>Adventure Through Narnia</i>, for instance, or even indefinitely delayed DVDs like "Boy Meets World" S4 and <i>Disney Princess Learning Adventures</i>), so it's curious why not only does the listing remain but it's taking orders and triggering inexplicable "shipping soon" notices.

Yes, I see the 'reviews' are back again.... I swear they were not there 30 mins ago... Very strange...
I don't know why Amazon continue to tease by changing the shipping dates again... ughh... Hopefully this DVD will see the light of day soon !
I will certainly shout it from the highest rooftop if this DVD is ever shipped to me.

**listening to Disneylands Electrical Parade theme song as I am typing** I don't think they are going to release DVD. It was a tease!! I read on amazon.com that some guys called the DISNEY DVD company to get word on the DVD, and they say it's not even on their 2006 release plans!
"If you can dream it, you can do it." - Walt Disney
The Disney DVD phone line people aren't even direct Disney employees. They're better at taking information than giving information. I'm not holding too much hope that this will come out, but we'd probably know just as good as them. As of now, no it is not on the official 2006 schedule, but that only encompasses like 20 titles officially right now.

Maybe it is so more people will be fooled into buying this ad:ohmahaaha wrote:Shoot - I hope we do eventually get to see this DVD. It still looks awesome - can't understand why it's being held back??

If there was a better alternative, there would be a warehouse full of these just not moving
(The DVDs, not the warehouse. A warehouse wouldn't move. That's just crazy talk, Loomis).

Ok - what is going on with this DVD?
Today I checked the listing on Amazon, and it doesn't even say "release date to be determined" or whatever, it just says "order this DVD now used." HUH???
I wish someone at Disney or Buena Vista would at least make some kind of press announcement saying whether this DVD will be released or not, yes or no, and any time soon, so that I can just cancel the stupid pre-order on Amazon that has been outstanding for nearly 1 full year if it's not going to happen.
Has ANYONE heard any more information on this DVD? Luke? Anyone??

Nothing new here. I'd say it's not looking good, with the 50th Anniversary celebrations wrapping up before the end of this year and Amazon being the only place to show any sign of this being released. Without them taking orders, getting this disc out by then is starting to look mighty improbable. But at the same time, there's enormous demand for this and clearly effort/money already went into producing it. I can't imagine it would be in Disney's financial interests to just pretend this never happened and suffer a blow rather than clear whatever hurdles need to be and immediately reap the fruits of those labors. They may have to lose the 50th Anniversary Edition labeling, but it's not like Disneyland is going anywhere, so the program sounds relevant enough and definitely unique.ohmahaaha wrote:Has ANYONE heard any more information on this DVD? But then, why did <i>Adventure Through Narnia</i> disappear? That sounded pretty cool from what I read about it. Will that ever resurface? Why not? Will we ever have clear answers to questions like these? I don't know. Probably not.

Well, with another 7 months or so left of the 'official' 50th celebrations, I'm hoping something comes out in that window. Who knows - maybe they are now including some actual footage of the 50th celebrations? Parades and so forth. I'd like to think the Steve Martin hosted film will be on there, and it is presently a Main Street exclusive. Maybe they WILL include it, and want as many people as possible to see it IN the park.
Am I just hopelessly optimistic?
Either that or the press people are desperately trying to work out how to repackage and remarket the Vacation Planning Guide again.

Staple a puppy to the gates of Disneyland every day before the end of October?drew_dawg04 wrote:WHEN IS IT COMING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so mad because i've look everywhere and there's no released date!
Just tell me what can we do to get this dvd out before the end of the celebration!!!!
Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine. If you read all the posts above, you'll see we are all asking the same question with little or no clue. We sure love to speculate though!

This is a little off topic, but I did a search for Disneyland under DVD on Amazon, and this new listing came up:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F6ZDM4
Modern Marvels - Los Angeles
Amazon lists nothing in the way of details, but on the A&E website it says:
Vast, sprawling and polluted, Los Angeles also crackles with its own brand of energy and has a peculiar urban beauty, imparted as much from the extraordinary structures that dot the city as from its stunning location.
MODERN MARVELS® looks at five of the most intriguing engineering accomplishments in LA. Take a guided ride through the tunnels and along the tracks of the new Red Line Subway system, which holds the promise that the city's legendary traffic problems may someday be diminished. Of course, until that time, the vast freeway network remains one of Los Angeles most famous features. Leaving transportation behind, we move on to three popular destinations--Disneyland, The Getty Center and the Los Angeles Coliseum. Each is a product of a different era in the city's history, and the stories behind their design and construction speak of much more than engineering prowess.
This nuts and bolts look at LOS ANGELES shows the city in a refreshingly different light.
So it isn't what we want, but there is a Disneyland related DVD coming out (kinda).
The whole thing only runs 50 minutes, so I'd imagine the Disneyland mention would be very brief. The A&E Shop exclusive - Rollercoasters - has a few mentions of Disneyland too.

I hate when this thread gets bumped and I get my hopes up, only to read the new posts and realize my hope was raised for nothing. So, I'm happy to say that this <i>isn't</i> one of those bumps, but I can't say much more than that. Restore some of the lost hope and keep your fingers crossed (not literally, that would be hideous) for the months ahead. There, I've said enough. And no, this isn't a late April Fool's or as unsubstantiated as the Amazon customer comments would appear to be. But it's obviously still subject to change.

How very cryptic, Lukester...
But the fact that you're telling us to restore hope and keep our fingers crossed for the months ahead, methinks you've got some inside information...perhaps a simple confirmation that the disc IS coming before the end of the year??

You are just trying to hurt us now - aren't you, Luke?
As soon as this thing becomes available, I WILL fly to the US to pick it up personally. Damn the expense!
