oh, i've finially got my hands on the Fantasia Anthology. Well, I will in a few days. I just got it off of eBay for 45 bucks shipped.

To stay on board topic, how many of you have it, and how much did you pay for it?

I've heard some people gotten the set for 30 bucks. I'm sooo jealous!

I got it from Amazon when it came out. This was in 2000, when they did at least 40% off all pre-orders. Had some gift certificates from click-for-points sites...came out to $0 shipped for that and The Straight Story.

Love 'em both. 8)

I've just ordered it recently - expecting it to come any day now. Cost me £33 (around $54)....

Am I the only one in the UK who's paying these kind of prices? (similar for the Ultimate Toy box) It seems like they're practically giving DVDs away across the pond.

I just got my copy of the Fantasia Anthology today. :) I paid $46.39 for it. I also bought a copy of The Ultimate Toy Box for the same price.

Let's see, how much did it cost me? I went an oddball route, which is as follows:

I bought Fantasia 2000+bonus disk on Ebay. After the auction was over, the guy said "oh yeah, I didn't mention it in the auction, do you want the box too?" I of course said YES!!

So, 2/3rds + box for $15 US + $6 shipping, and then I bought Fantasia for $20 CAN.

It's a great set, though I still haven't gone through everything yet.

yes, eBay is the best place to get a separate disc like that! I've seen some go for about 20 bucks, but this one will probably go cheap. i have an odd feeling about it! :p

With the exception of ebay and online purchases where are you guys getting these for so cheap. I can't find them any cheaper than 68 - 70 dollars in stores!?! Does anyone know of any stores that are selling them cheaper. If not then maybe I'll just wait for the Platinum version to come out. I'm sure it will be followed up by a special edition fantasia 2000 and maybe even the premiere edition of fantasia 2006, or whatever they are going to call it.

well, maybe some online stores have it cheaper. Stores like DeepDiscountDVD.com and dvdempire.com might have it for cheap!

If you are looking for getting it cheap though, I strognly reccomend eBay. JUst be carefull, and dont buy the first thing you see. If you need any help with it, feel free to ask me (if you decide to go into eBay buying :p)

I'd have recommended holding off bidding until near the end, but no real biggie anyway. If someone is planning on sniping, they'll snipe.

I have the UK 3-disc set. I bought The US Fantasia disc separately later, because the UK one is missing all of the bonus material... The UK Fantasia 2000 disc is good enough for me, though.
What about the third disc? Is the UK version same as the US one? Am I missing anything important?

The UK set is missing the commentaries and 2 making of documentaries from the 2 film discs if I remember correctly. There are actually 2 commentaries on each disc, with the Walt Disney 'reconstructed' commentary on Fantasia being priceless. The 2 making of documentaries are meaty and informative to - each runs for over 50 minutes.

As far as I have heard the third disc is the same as the American one, but you really are missing out on hours of good stuff.

The UK three disc set is now deleted, but the 2 individual discs are readily available.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Ok, thanks.
I think I have everything I need. I don't care for the Fantasia 2000 extras.

I got my set as a Christmas present back in 2000 and I'm a very proud owner. :D I honestly can't see how they can improve upon Fantasia's supplements as a future platinum edition unless they just directly port over the box set's supplements and make the galleries virtual.
