My Disneyland Vacation

Post by memnv »

Got Back from our Disneyland Vacation about 1 am this morning. We had 3-day hopper tickets and when we got there we added a 4th day. On the first day Wednesday our plane arrived at John Wayne airport at 8:15 am and we took an airport shuttle to our motel ( Comfort Inn- Main Gate) about 2 1/2 long blocks to the park. We checked in and decided to go to the park since it was so early. We took the shuttle buses everyday to the park. We got to Disneyland about 10 and started oor fantastic Journey. There were 6 of us. Me, My wife my 2 boys ages 4 and 1, my mother in law and my brother in law(Tony). My brother in law and I went on Star Tours while my wife and 2 boys went on the Astro Orbiter across from it. Then we saw Belle and the Evil Queen. ( took pictures and got autographs- we made 2 photo autograph books for the boys) Then we went and saw Airel and did the same with her. Next stop was Small World. about 45 mins to an hour wait. Christmas theme was cool. next we headed over to toon town. we had lunch. Josh and I went and played in the little sound effects square,Next I took Josh on Go-Go Gadget Coaster. While we were in line and on it Dale rode it a few times. Next Josh and I went over to the treehouse next door and got Dales autograph and pictures with him. then Tony and I took Josh and Joey on Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin. Then we met Goofy and got pics and autographs. Then we watched the parade on main street. Next we went back to the motel, My mother-in-Law fell getting off the bus holding my 1 year old son and landed on him. she sprained her ankle and bruised her ribs. After Dinner Tony and I went back to the park and went on Pirates of the Carribian, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear's astro Blasters, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Autotopia. then we left at Midnight.
The next day we all went back and got a wheel chair for my mother in law. We went on Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, I took josh in the treehouse, Casey jr's Circus train, Josh and I went on Dumbo, Tea Cups, Alice in Wonderland, Then Tony, Tina, Joey and my mother in law went back to the motel. Josh and I went on Peter Pan, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin, Autotopia, and Atro Blasters. Then Tony and Tina came back and we did Big Thunder, Astro Blasters again, and Honey I shrunk the Kids. We saw and got autographs from Mulan, Capt Hook, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Buzz Lightyear, Pocohantas, Pooh and Tigger, and Rabbit kidnapped my mother-in-law in the wheel chair and pushed her up the hill. The Wheelchair worked out nice, We got to skip alot of lines with it.
Day 3 we went to California Adventure, Went on California Screaming, Grizzly River Run, Sun Wheel, Mulholland Madness, watched Muppets 3-d which I have seen at MGM, and The Block Party, Then we went over to Disney Land watched the Fireworks and the Christmas parade. and Called it a night. The food is better at California Adventure. We got photos of Mulan and Mushu
Day 4 back to Disneyland, went on Space Mountain, Autotophia twice, Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Astro Blasters, Peter Pan, Snow White, Mr Toads wild Ride, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, and the Monorail. We went to Breakfest with Goofy at 1 PM, We did Pictures and Autographs with Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Snow White, Maxx, Aurora, and Pluto. Josh and I also met The Ugly Duckling from Chicken Little in Toon Town. And we met Mickey Twice, First Josh and I went to Mickeys house and got his autograph and Picture, then we met Mickey in front of the big tree on Main Street and took a family picture with him. We also found a good mexican resturant in Frontier land next to Big Thunder Rail Road.
DisneyLand was the better of the parks, Thanksgiving day 70,000 people. The Fireworks were awesome, Parade's were good, Block Party was boring. It was fun meeting the characters and getting autographs. We are planning to go again in 2008 when Joey is Joshua's present age. That way he can go through the excitement Josh just had. And Josh will be big enough to go on everything. He loved Space Mountain but was mad because he could not go on Indiana Jones and California screaming.

Thanks for the report, memnv.

Always love to hear wat other people got up to on their Disney holidays so I can live vicariously through them :D

Certainly sounds as though it was a lot busier than it was just a few short months ago, and I imagine that the Thanksgiving crowds would have been madness. Do you have any photos? I'd love to see what the park looks like around Christmas time (although I have seen some other photos online, always keen to see more).

Hope everyone is now in good health after the few tumbles!

I took about 200 photos. I heard during Thanksgiving Weekend the crowd averaged 70,000 per day only New Years has more people. Here are a few of them. The Haunted Mansion is done as Nightmare Before Christmas
