WDW was in the Macys Parade 05
Did everyone watch the parade & see Walt Disney Worlds' float featuring dozens of Disney characters? Leanne Rimes was on the float as well singing "Remember When" the 50th Anniversary theme ballad.
Best float in the parade...well imo...
It was themed after the boat from SteamBoat Wille w/ all the characters on it like in Fantasmic & had the mini "pyro" works & streamer flags like in the finale of the show.
So cute w/ the little kids dressed as their "hero" characters! The mini Prince Charming & Cinderella were the cutest!!!
Totally didnt expect to see this in the parade this year.

I saw it and was extremely surprised since I don't think I've ever seen a Disney float at a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade before. For those wondering, these were the characters that I remember being present:
Mickey Mouse
Minnie Mouse
Cinderella
Prince Charming
Alice
Mad Hatter (!)
Queen of Hearts
Peter Pan
Aurora
Belle
Aladdin
Jasmine
Hercules
I agree that little costumed kids (especially mini-Cinderella and her mini-Prince) were adorable. Oh, and yay for having a mini-Hatter, as well!

Did anyone tape it? I would like to see it.
Being in the Philadelphia area, we usually watch Philadelphia's Boscovs Thanksgiving Day Parade on abc (the oldest Thanksgiving Day Parade in the nation) . Since Disney and abc are a part of the show, there is usually a whole Disney segment and sprinkled WDW advertising with WDW trip giveaways. I felt like the Disney parts were very similar to last year.
The Disney parts include:
~ Orlando's local high school marching band playing Disney tunes, marching band style, rather than Christmas tunes like all the other marching bands.
~ A gazebo float with some of the Disney princesses and their princes who will appear later in the parade.
~ A castle float with Mickey and Minnie.
~ An animal Kingdom float with the Tree of Life, Timon, Rafiki, and safari Donald and Daisy. Following was a commercial for the upcoming Expedition: Everest! It revealed a lot of exciting details and called it a family thrill ride. Last year it was an Epcot float with Spaceship Earth and space Goofy. Following was, of course, a commercial for the then upcoming Mission: Space.
~ The musical, dance segment was a medley of Christmas tunes sung by a chorus and the Disney characters - mainly the fab five and Stitch. The beginning was a dance segment with dancers dressed in santa-like outfits and Cinderella & Prince Charming, Belle and her Prince (Adam?), and Snow White and the prince dancing to their respective hymns intertwined with Christmas carols. The next part had Stitch babbling about something with Christmas and he was followed by the rest of the fab five plus Chip n Dale and (for obvious reasons) Chicken Little and Abby Mallard. They all danced to the more lively Christmas songs with other dancers and children dressed as christmas ornaments. This all took place in front of a lovely castle float.
The parade was very enjoyable, though it is sad that Christmas has so much emphasis on a Thanksgiving Day parade. I'm all for the holiday season, but people forget there's a lot more to the Thanksgiving holiday than the start of the "Christmahannakwanza" holiday season (like remembering how the oppressed Puritan settlers were thanking God for their safe journey to the new land and sharing their feast with the natives).

Mini Cinderella and Mini Prince Charming
Thank you for all of your comments on the Disneyland Float in the Macys Parade 2005. I couldn't agree more that the mini cinderella and mini prince were adorable, but then again I am the mini Prince Charmings mom. Franco and I had a GREAT time in NYC with the cast and crew from Disneyland land we are still trying to get off that cloud! Thank you again! I am so glad he touched your hearts!
