I doubt they're "reserved". Most likely, it will go to where it is shipped first. Like, #1-1000 will be shipped to Arkansas, or #3000-4500 will be shipped to Butte, Montana.Alan wrote:Quick slightly offtopic question:
Are the treasures with really low numbers like #1-#100, are they reserved to like special people in the disney world, or can anyone get the #1 tin?
I never really cared for the numbers anyway. What would make #312 more special than #12535 anyway? It's the same content on the discs.

My local video store has this to rent (they carry every Criterion DVD), though its "replacement fee" is quite steep, like every OOP Criterion title.Escapay wrote:Yeah, this place definitely is not the place to be talking about the movie. I haven't seen it, but just based on the synopsis, I doubt I'll ever plan on seeing it.disneytreasurestin wrote:Oh, Salo, here might be not the place talking about that movie.
I don't want to watch it anymore after saw it first time.

Though after reading about it on the Criterion website, I can't think of a reason why I'd rent it. It sounds like it could be up there with I Spit On Your Grave in terms of offensive content.

There are quite a lot of bootlegs of OOP Criterions around and this "valuable" title in particular. But I was referring to the fact that that particular title has also been released by some other company than Criterion somewhere in the world. Forgot which one - I haven't got it for sale and I don't intend to buy one either.

Was in a collector's store in Sacramento a couple of weeks ago and they had an original "Lady and the Tramp" DVD there for $350. Also they had "Little Mermaid" DVD for $325. There are some Disney original releases that are getting good money out there on the open market. eBay doesn't have it all and I don't trust those eBay sellers anyway.

Those are definitely going to get drastic price drops come February and October 2006.

I do wish I'd collected the WDT line...we have the complete Goofy set, but I think that's it. I may have to start that...That Announcer wrote:It's so ironic that I have plenty'o DVDs, but I don't collect for the sake of collecting. And yet, somehow, I managed to snag BATB PE for $35 (in Canadian money) and Behind the Scenes WDT!
The reason I say this isn't because of monetary value, but because I am a die-hard Disney fan and wish I'd had the money to start buying all of those sets just to be immersed in the Walt-era history. So...I guess you could say that I collect Disney DVDs, but that's because Disney is one of the great passions in my life. But I am not a terribly ACTIVE DVD collector, as I am also a broke College Program student.
Outside of Disney...I only get the DVD of a movie/tv show if I like it, and I'm not determined to have the BEST MOST BONUS FEATURES-STUFFED version unless it's one that I really love and want to know more about. I want those versions of Disney films because I love Disney films and want to know as much as I can about them! I wish I could afford to own more Disney DVDs than I do, but in time, I suppose.
