OK, so as some of you know, I just bought Mickey Mouse in living color for twenty bucks on amazon from this guy called "newbury_comics". I ordered two days ago. Today, he did a refund and said that the twenty bucks will be refunded and be credit at my next credit card statement.
The problem is, I use this special prepaid card, not a credit card, called "visabuxx" and only parents can put money in. I can't. I checked my account online, and I'm still, right now, charged twenty bucks! I can check how much money I have left in the card at any time online through the website.
Do you think they will eventually give me back my twenty bucks? Cuz I'm still charged that, and have twenty dollars less in my small account. Does anyone here know how refunds on amazon work?

I've had that happen before where I'd gotten refunds, but since mine was a normal credit card there wasn't any issue. Most of the high ranked sellers are honest and will give refunds.
I'd contact the seller and inquire about it, and be sure to mention that you have a "visabuxx" (never heard of that) card because the policy might be different with putting money in it (if only certain people have that ability--he may not).

Credit cards don't use cash...just credit that you eventually have to pay off. In that instance, my credit card bill wasn't due for that month for another couple of weeks so my account was recredited for the amount I had purchased for the book for, so it was almost like I had never bought the book in the first place. That's how credit works--in a nutshell.Alan wrote:So if you have a regular credit card, and your order is refunded, do they add cash to your card or what?
I think your situation might be different just because you stated that only your parents can put money in that visabuxx card thing. That might be why you don't see a refund-because the seller isn't authorized to add money to the account. You might want to see if he can send you the refund some other way (personal check, cash, money order).

When my current credit card of choice was under Citibank, they had a program called Virtual Account Numbers for one-time credit card use. You could even assign a limit. I believe on one or two instances (perhaps for free trial offers), I needed a charge reversal and that worked just fine even though it was not an actual credit card number but a one-time deal. The only thing is your parents will probably have to give you new "Buxx" when they see the reverse credit.

Give it time
Just check your account, It takes 2-3 business days to post. If on Monday, there's no sign of the refund on your Visabuxx account, have you or your parents send an e-mail to thier customer service account and inquire about it.
It's not actually the seller that gives the refund through Amazon, it's Amazon itself, and they're not gonna send cash for a "credit card" purchase.

How much money does your parents give you on the card? Is it like periodical? Since my mom gave me 500 dollars on the card to use while I was in europe, and I only have 80 bucks left...Jungleprince_55 wrote:I have a visabuxx card too ond the same thing happened to me when i tried to order the little mermaid a while ago, I did get my money back though.
