No, its been made clear in several articles that they definately are planning to make HD-DVD players backwards compatable.
Yep, they have. They actually thought about having HD-DVDs compatable with DVD players, but dropped the idea soon afterward. :(

That makes absolutely no sense! There was no BATB gift set/box set like TLK, so what are you talking about?

I think he means that the box that the 3 Beauty movies can be put in that only a few people received is made of the same material The Ultimate Toy Box, The Fantasia Anthology, and The Lion King Giftset's boxes are made out of.

Just some food for thought :)
I think there is yellow a sticker saying "For a limited time only!" on the DVD and VHS boxes. I might be wrong though. Has anyone seen the sticker?

None of the US advertisments I've seen say "For a limited time only!"

Hi Prince Philip.

TV stations (not cable) in the Washington D.C. area have started airing 25 second commercials of The Lion King Special Edition DVD. The announcer does mention that the Lion King "will be available for a limited time only!"

Yeah, I started seeing those too. :) Thanks Starion.

I thought that the Platinums were going to start being available for 2 years, maybe that startes with Aladdin, or maybe the person who made the announcement just had no idea what they were talking about!

No, I believe the plan from the beginning was to have each platinum release on the market from October-January and then put it back into the vault for the next several years.

When they announced the new schedule (which, as we know, hasn't taken effect yet) they also said the films would be available for 2 year then vaulted.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
