Ohh yeah, I thought I was doing swell for the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box...WRONG. Some guy bids it on the last minute. :( But hey, maybe now (since I still want it) it'll be inexpensive because Toy Story is coming back out.

Actually does anyone know the name of the program that does that? I heard about it before but I dont recall the name. YOur supposed to tell it what you want your max bid to be and at the last second it goes in there and bids.

I think a better way to do it (so you can save money) is to go to the bidding page and enter a max bid and count down the time yourself.

I always wait till the end to bid. So many times I have become part of a bidding war against someone when I realized I should just stop bidding and just put in a bid at the end. It'll save you alot of money sometimes.

It's called SNIPING...and it's GREAT if you win the auction.
Like Lucylover1986 said, it does save you a lot of money (sometimes) because when it comes to minutes, you have people fighting over it and raising the bid whereas when you're down to seconds, you can't really fight with bids. Whoever has the fastest connection wins.

Or you can just use the program to Snipe the auction for you. ;) I adore that. Because of that, I was able to obtain lots of wanted items! :D

I do that all the time and end up usually winning the item. :D
I usually put a high max bid at the last 3 minutes of the auction.

Hi

I know exactly what your saying:

Recently I bid on an E-Bay item, that was a rare transfer from the origional 16mm film of the rare made for tv movie "Scream, Pretty Peggy" with Bette Davis, and Ted Bessell. I bid on day one, I had a bidding war. The movie ended up selling for $152.

I shouldn't have bid until the last 5 minnutes, maby than I could have actually gotten the item.

Sorry, but I am a last minute item snatcher! Like everyone else has said, you can often save yourself a reasonable amount by waiting until the end!

Add me to the frustration! Today I signed up (despite some hesitation) and in a matter of hours was suspended! Why? Wrong contact information. I cannot wrap my mind on to how they reached that conclusion considering the fact that many other websites I'm registered to have the exact same details! Moreover, a headsup would've been nice considering the fact that I've already gone through with a purchase. Now it's compelely unclear if I'm still entitled to that purchase or wether I should take my search elsewhere! :x What can I do?

I've been using eBay for about...3 years now. And other then two bootlegged DVDs(I definitely learned my lesson there...DONT GO FOR THE CHEAP PRICES THAT SAY "NEW" BUT NOT SEALED AND WITH NO ACTUAL PHOTO) I haven't had a problem...except..for one very sad incident...

I was buying a Cinderella Gift set...it was only $19.99...I was like NO WAY! It looked very legit, nice clear pictures showed that it was brand new. The seller had 100% positive feedback, read them and thought "okay...it sounds safe." Only one other person had bid on it. Now Cinderella isn't one of my top favorites but I do enjoy it and appreciate it a lot and having a gift set would have been cool...so I placed my bid..dun Dun DUN! And I actually won it!!! The total came out to 23.99 with shipping an all, and I was like AWESOME!! I sent the seller a message an all, saying how I was going to pay...So I don't use paypal or credit cards on eBay, I just go get a money order and send it through the mail...so then I sent the money order...3 days later...THE SELLERS ACCOUNT HAD SHUT DOWN! This instantly made me worry...so I called the phone number they had put on their account, supposedly the item was coming form Las Vegas, but the numer I called was all the way in Indiana...a woman picked up and says in spanish "bueno?" and I was like "bueno?" okay...I don't know much spanish so I got my sister to talk to her and ask her about the item on ebay...turns out...they said we had the WRONG NUMBER!! Ooooh I was so mad...after 4 weeks...nothing came in the mail...I got no response...a big NOTHING...So I decided to complain to eBay or file a dispute er whatever...nothing helped...so there goes my $23.99 into the wallet of a scam artist...I ended up just buying the DVD of Cinderella somewhere else...with a nice slipcover...

So thats my tragic story on eBay...I don't typically shop there anymore unless I'm looking for an OOP DVD or some random collectibe...I get eBay paranoia waiting for my items to come...

Does anyone know why they might've suspended me? I've only bought a single item and so far haven't sold anything. They said my contact details were incorrect, which is total bull! (why would someone even give incorrect contact details?!) Could it be a glitch in the system? I was only registered for a few hours... :(
