I was reading the front page and thought it was too good to be true! Then I realized it wasn't April 1. So I rushed to forum to post how I feel about this news.

It's wonderful!

I assume many more wll follow from this! Yay!

Where do I start?jamminjake245 wrote:Yeah, I think what convinced Disney to release cartoons was the fact that Supermand sold so well and that Garfield & Friends was selling well. I have a strong feeling the Ducktales set will have 25 episodes and Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers has about 21. Ducktales will be complete with 4 box sets and Rescue Rangers on 3. The next sets to come will be (I think) Gummi Bears and The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Then with the Little Mermaid movie coming to DVD in the fall we will see The Little Mermaid Series (Complete!) on DVD along with Aladdin. Then when Hercules comes to Platinum edition we will get the series same for 101 Dalmations.
I dont think he meant Disney releases superman and garfield, but rather they were encouraged by the sales of other cartoons released on dvd. WB has been amazed at how well their sets have been selling.SofaKing381222 wrote:Where do I start?jamminjake245 wrote:Yeah, I think what convinced Disney to release cartoons was the fact that Supermand sold so well and that Garfield & Friends was selling well. Disney didn't release Superman OR Garfield. I doubt they'll fit all of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin on 1 DVD set (Although that would be cool) and Hercules isn't coming to Platinum Edition........ but besides that I agree with your timeline of the next cartoons.
I hope it won't be a yearly thing, either. I can't wait that long! it would be cool if it was on the same set, but I doubt that Disney would do that (even though thats not what u meant)jamminjake245 wrote:I didn't mean they would be on the same set. I think Disney is expecting these sales to be high, but I'm sure that they will sell better than they expected. I would LOVE for them to release some newer series (101D, Herc, Recess, DCOS) but I would also LOVE for them to release some more of the older shows (TaleSpin, GoofTroop, etc)Edge wrote:I would like to think that before we see the later series (hercules, the other one's i dont like) that they'd go for more of their older series like Talespin, Darkwing, etc.
I think disney is going to be in for a pleasant surprise with these sales.
As I said earlier in this thread, New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is my favorite Disney show, and I have a nasty feeling Disney will relegate it to the crapfest that is the "Growing up with Winnie the Pooh" line. Disney probably won't stop looking at it as their preschool franchise, and therefore will treat it as such. I *REALLY* hope I'm wrong, though. I'd love to see Pooh released in 3-Disc boxed sets (and with its opening theme song intact).jamminjake245 wrote:Once I have all the episodes of the series I will be throwing away my home made copies. lol Do you think The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh will be released? I don't know because that is targeted at younger children then other Disney Cartoons (Ducktales, etc) so we may just get stuck with the "Growing up With.." crap.
If you're talking about multi-format televisions, I think that means a TV that transmits both NTSC and PAL images. Most (if not all) British TVs of the last five or so years are multi-format ones. If you have a multi-region player and don't have a multi-format TV, then the whole thing comes out in black and white. Like my old TV.scroogemcd wrote:What does multi-format mean, Region Free ??
