Hey Kram,
There are Costco's in New Castle, DE and King of Prussia, PA. I just moved here from the San Francisco Bay Area, where I had three Costco's within about 20 minutes of me, so I was pleased to at least see these two. You might have to cross the river, but you should check them out. And the one in K of P had almost all of those listed, so I picked up one of each that included the lithos last night.
Also, is it certain that "Melody Time" includes the lithos? The box didn't mention it, at least at the Costco I visited.

Hey sferench! Welcome to the UD forums!
Hey sferench! Welcome to the UD forums!
Thanks for your post! I didn't know there was a Costco anywhere near us, but now I know! Though as good as the news is, I doubt my parents will get a membership just for DVDs. We are already members of Sam's Club and it is literally behind my neighborhood so getting a new membership to a club an hour away is not likely. But thanks for the info anyhow!
You're welcome, and thanks for the welcome greeting!
My parents are members of Sam's Club, but I haven't been there more than a couple times. How would you compare the DVD selection at the two, if you've been to Costco? And if you haven't ever been to Costco, just in general, how is the Sam's Club DVD selection? My Costco membership is coming up for reneal next month, and I want to decide between there and Sam's Club. Thanks.

You're welcome for the greeting! New members are always welcome, though I hope you stay b/c lately it seems we've gotten all these new members who ask FAQ and never post again.

Anyhow, I haven't been to Costco, but from the sounds of the lithograph promotion, it seems that they have quite the selection of Disney DVDs.
As far as Disney DVDs, Target has a much better selection than Sam's Club. Basically Sam's Club has new releases for several weeks to a few months and then they disappear. Sometimes with new releases some old titles resurface for a while until they decide to put them away again or ppl buy them all. For example, when Vintage Mickey, Best of MMC, and Best of (pop stars from MMC, blah) premiered, a few Gold Collection and other titles reappeared with them (Melody Time, Fun and Fancy Free, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea...). Also the new live action Disney movies stick around for a while (Pacifier, Ice Princess). Sam's Club has great prices, but you have to get lucky if you plan to buy an old title. They used to have loads of Mulan II, but now they're ALL gone. When the wave with Tomorrowland and Donald came out they had A LOT of copies, but when the wave with Complete Pluto and Mickey Mouse Club came out, they didn't order as much. The amounts and shelf life of the Disney DVDs always vary at Sam's Club.
If you mean all DVDs, Sam's Club is basically very good with having all new releases and studio classics and dirt cheap studio oldies. They also have a lot of box sets for TV shows, movie series, and some Movie sets for studioes (like a set for Romantic Comedies or Action flicks). Also they have random sets of tv specials and things like Bible on DVD and classic horror movies. They still have these sets called the family collections with an unknown (probably Goodtime Video) animation company's animated movies. You'd think it'd be Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, but its other stories like Squanto or something and Davy Crockett. I forget what exactly. Anyhow, that's the best I can sum it up.
I'd have to actually go to Costco to rate which has the better selection, but as far as Disney DVDs, I'd have to say Sam's Club always has limited choices and random finds.

Thanks for the detailed reply, Kram. I think I will stick with Costco for awhile but check out Sam's Club through my parents' membership. By the way, I think you might be able to get a free day pass at Costco, and then if you buy anything, there is a 5% markup, or something like that, in case you find yourself in K of P or (better yet because of no taxes) Newark, DE.

I was wondering if any of you got extra Disneyland Lithographs at Costco.
Because I'm missing:
New Orleans Square:
Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted House
Railroad
Fantasyland:
It's a Small World
Peter Pan
Matterhorn
Adventureland:
Swiss Family Treehouse
Enchanted Tiki
Jungle Cruise
If you want to trade them for ones you are missing or I could buy them off you.
Please I would like to complete this set.
Post or e-mail if you have questions.

Sorry...
Sorry I haven't been able to post pics of the lithos, but I was at Costco last week and they've reissued the lithos in many packages of their Disney Live-action movies. SO, for those of you who missed them the first time 'round...you've got a second chance!

Costco did release a second wave of lithos, but they are all different than the first time around. You can get a total of 15 new lithos this time around. Last time we recieved 3 lithos per dvd and this time it is 5 per dvd purchase. I have all of them from both waves but no way of posting pics. They are the exact same size as the ones that come in the Treasure tins and look almost identical.

Good call, goof. When I saw the packages in the store, I just assumed they were the same ones. I did take a trip over there yesterday and managed to get a closer look and you're absolutely correct. I picked up all three sets in various movies, so I've got a complete collection, as well. This only begs the question, though...are more lithos on the way from Costco? The first "wave" had 3 prints each from 5 lands...the second "wave" had 5 prints each from 3 lands. So the total count so far is that 5 lands have 8 images while 2 only have 3. Not only is this a great way to pick up DVDs you may have missed out on at a great price (they've all been $12.99 so far), but the lithos are quite nice as well. I might try to get some sort of album to put them in along with the prints from the "Treasures" discs.

Pal, I've got some extras if you're interested. I couldn't pass up some of the movies at such a great price, so I ended up with more than one of a few sets. Send a message if you're still interested.MickeyMousePal wrote:bump...
