Hey, this is a clever thread. I'm glad it was bumped; I've never read it before.
I guess if they were real, my Disney character best friend would be Kuzco. He's just a random, funny guy who really is a person I think I'd get along with. I'd actually like to see how funny we could be when put in the same room.
Even though the fun-loving side of me would pick Kuzco, the "teenage boy full of hormones" side of me would undoubtably pick Princess Jasmine. As I've said before, I'd don't know if I'd be able to control myself if she somehow became real.
But nobody would be a better friend for anybody than Carpet. He seems like a good person to have a discussion with.

Wow, I forgot about this topic! Thank you for bumping it, dizzy.
I'm trying to figure out the Disney characters I matched for my real friends (which is the only way I could think of answering this thread). It's weird because I can still see how the matchings hold true. Oh, now I'm sad b/c I just graduated and I won't see them as much or I won't see them again for a long time
.
Anyhow, it's fun to see everyone else's answers. There are a lot of characters who would make great friends.

Pete's Dragon or The Dragon, from Pete's Dragon. We have our differences for sure: I don't breathe fire, I am not green, and though I am very much in touch with my inner child, I do not get along well with real kids.
But we also have amazing similarities: we both don't drink alcohol (we don't need depressants to make us acceptable), we can fly naturally, we're persecuted for others' fears of the unknown, we're both forced to hide a lot, we both fight a lot for the side of good, we're both skilled in the art of invisibility (though that's mostly due to peoples' awareness than our ability to physically blend into the scenery), we're both larger than life... presence-wise I mean, not in bulk or size. And just when you're really getting attached to us- we both disappear and you will never see us again. Oh, and, we make everyone love us. Everyone that is, who is decent and pure of heart.
I keep forgetting things, and also, someday they will write a song about me too. Then, we will have that in common as well.

I would probably be hanging around with Mulan and Aladdin. They're both close to my age or a few years younger, and Aladdin would probably be the crazy friend who's always coming up with schemes that get us into trouble, while Mulan would be the cool tomboy that all the guys secretly have a crush on, heh.

I don't know why, but I just think I'd want to hang out with Herc. I think he is so cool, but his movie ain't one of my favorites, not at all. Tarzan would be very interesting.
I'd like to have a one-on-one conversation with Aurora in the forest and have a quite, calm time.
I'd love to have some adventures with Pocahontas and John Smith.

Hmm...
Lemme think...
Timon and/or Pumbaa. (Duh!) Pumbaa is nice and Timon has a sense of humor that I look for in a friend because what fun are friends if you can't pick on 'em a little?
Nala could also be my friend. She's pretty tight.
Jasmine or Meg, too. Just because they seem like people I could get a long with.
Jim Hawkins is hot! I wish he'd be my friend

"Shenzi Marie, please. I know what you're thinking; 'We're too different,' 'it'll never work,' 'what will the children look like?'"
I think I'd get along well with Bert from Mary Poppins. Gentlemen like him are few. We'd probably be friends for a while until I tried to steal his girlfriend, because Mary Poppins is pretty hot.
As far as animated characters go, I'd have to say either Jiminy Cricket, Merlin, or Pacha. They all seem to do a fine job of looking out for people, and I could use someone looking out for me.

I could easily see me hanging out with the Genie from Aladdin, or Timon and Pumbaa from Lion King.
I would also love to be friends with Rex from Toy Story (heck, he's where I got my forum screen name

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.
