What does everyone think will be on the Platinium Cinderella

Post by Mermaid Kelly »

Since a lot of people think Cinderella will be platinium in spring 05, what does everyone think will be on the Platinium Cinderella dvd? I can't really think of many "super bonus features" that could go with Cinderella. Probably some teenie-bopper group will remake Bibbity bobbity boo or A Dream is a wish your heart makes. :lol: :lol: But what else? Maybe a game to escape before midnight and a personality game.

That's already happened: Brooke Alison took those great songs and made them into nothing more that Britney-Spears-wannabe-fake-pop-bubblegum-princess-ditties.

I'm certain that Cinderella will have meatier features than TLK or BATB, to go along with the "Use The Glass Slipper to Find the Fair Maden Game"

Yes, I agree with Jack that Cinderella will be a meatier DVD than B&tB and TLK because there's barely anyone alive from the production that they can interview, edit, and only show the "this movie was a joy to work on" bits. They're going to have to rely on archive footage and current interviews with various film historians i.e. Snow White. This is what the LD (laserdisc) had:

* 1922 Laugh-O-Grams: "Cinderella"
* 1933 Silly Symphony Version
* 1940 Story Concept

* Storyboards and Story Development
** Sequence Breakdown- Seq. 1.2-Starting the Day
** Abandoned Sequences
*** The Music Lesson
*** Cindrella Worlk Song
*** Dancing on a Cloud

* Influence of World War II

* Return to the Classics

* Music
** "Cinderella"
** "I'm in the Middle of a Muddle"
** "I Lost My Heart at the Ball"
** "The Mouse Song"
** "Sing A Little, Dream A Little"
** "Dancing on a Cloud"
** "The Dress My Mother Wore"
** "The Face I See in the Night"

* Voice Talent

* Live-Action Reference Footage
** Mickey Mouse Club Helene Stanley Clip

* Art Design, Layouts, and Backgrounds
**Character Design
***Cinderella
***Lady Tremaine
***Anastasia and Drizella
***Fairy Godmother
***Prince Charming
***King
***Duke
***Lucifer
***Mice
***Major
***Bruno
***Miscellaneous Animals
***Music Teacher (deleted character)
** Preliminary Design Concepts
** Layouts and Backgrounds

* Animation

* Production Photo Gallery

*Radio Excerpts
** "Village Store"
** "Gulf Oil Prrsents"
** "Scouting the Stars"

* Publicity
** Trailers
** Radio Spots
** Posters, Lobby Cards, and 1950 Pressbook
** Merchandising
** 1950 Sunday Color Comic Strip

Add to that a nice commentary hosted by either Roy Disney or a film historian with edited remarks by Walt Disney and others, and you have a Cinderella Platinum Edition that could put even Snow White to shame.

That is a great list DisneyKid, but from what I've heard disney hasn't been the best at porting all the really good stuff over from their LD's to their DVD's.

I really look forward to Cinderella and Aladdin as they both have so many deleted songs and such, hope disney considers them important enough to include on both sets.

The delted character "Music teacher" sounds good, but my first thought was that disney would think "children don't care about that" and not include it, but perhaps someone there still has a brain and it will all be included.

Yeah, and at the end of the video, Madonna comes out and french kisses every single one of them.

You're right, but at the time Cinderella was released, Walt disney ws thinking on TV and the best ways to relesase his films, and that means publicity. I'm sure that there is rare footage about the making of Cinderella made for TV, and lots of abandoned concepts as well. I think the Platinum Cinderella will be more interesting than the BATB one.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.
