Does anyone know if this new US 2-disc edition is identical to this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007VV8JY/202-8327600-9207842 which is selling in the UK right now?

Nobody knows yet what the contents will be, however I think we can be 99% certain that it will be exactly the same.

I agree with ichabod. There is no logical need for Disney to improve this set (well, apart from games). Why waste money on improving a fine 2 disc set.

Well I guess I can stop searching for a reasonably priced CE copy.

The cover art is overcrowded but it's not as annoying as some of the other overcrowded covers Disney has put out.

...for the people who don't have it. I think the Emperor's New Groove SE is more pointless since it is already in print.

Although I kinda agree with you even if I don't have Tarzan yet on DVD. It's out of print but there are other movies that have never had nice editions released.

My complaint was about Disney not bothering to upgrade when it's rereleased. I have no problems with rereleases, but would like them to offer something fresh.

Yup, I'm definately going to buy this. I missed it when it first came out, so I'm gonna grab it. This along with Cinderella, Toy Story, and the Emperors New Groove will make this Winter busy for Disney. Hopefuly Atlantis will be re-released soon too!
Best Movies of 2009:
1. Moon
2. Inglorious Basterds
3. The Hurt Locker
4. Coraline
5. Ponyo

Me too! Thankfully I just got a small fortune for graduating high school (yay for Grad parties and relatives :D ) so I have enough money now for this coming DVD season...lol like harvesting, only DVDs instead of corn. I definitely want Tarzan as it is one of the new Disney Classics that I don't have yet! I just need this and Hercules and I'll have all the 1990's era (crap, forgot about Rescuers Down Under) Disney features!

I like the cover art for Tarzan better than the original. It reminds me of the Platinum covers and the Mulan cover. I wish they did this design with Pocahontas instead of the fan art looking cover.

Hum, is anyone else confused by the new cover art's implication that this will only be a one-disc set? I was really excited when I heard the news about the rerelease since I never bought the old versions of the movie, but if this single-disc thing turns out to be true it'll be a bit of a disappointment.

Definitely getting Tarzan as Hurricane Charley took my CE to the land of OZ. Already have the Emperor's New Groove CE so I'll pass on that & I too am really getting anxious waiting word on a Lilo & Stitch SE.

I think that cover art is just indicating that Tarzan will be available in both VHS and DVD. I remember Disney using that layout before for such advertising.

I'm a very impatient person..and I was wondering do you guys think it will be worth the wait for the few extra features or should I go ahead and buy Tarzan CE right now? I like the artwork on the CE more, too.

The problem is that the CE is OOP so very hard to find. And if you do find it is expensive.

But shouldn't we expect the price of the CE to go down, now that a new release is coming?

That is possible, Toy Story Ultimate Box set seems to be going a little lower so same thing can happen to Tarzan.

Hah, for some reason I still want the Ultimate Box even though a new one is coming out. I guess maybe it's because I'm hoping to get a career job at pixar. :)
