Alice In Wonderland DVD - Worth Buying? Is the film good on the hole, are the bonus features alright?

A disney movie is always worthy, no matter what does the extras are, because what it lives in our heart is the movie itself

I don't think I need to state my opinion since the review that was posted in this thread (twice!) is by me. :D If you're too lazy to read it, though, the answer is: yes!

I don't know if you are apart of the Disney Movie Club, but if you are, right now Alice in Wonderland is apart of the 50th Anniversary Sale and you can get it for $10.97! That is a great buy.

If you aren't, then YES, you should get it. It isn't one of my favorite Disney movies but it is a classic and it is very good. Get it and tell us what you think!

Alice in Wonderland is truly a masterpiece and ties as one of my favourite films ever. It's sometimes underrated, but when it gets credit, boy does it deserve it. The characters and music are great and Mary Blair's artwork for that film is gorgeous. Get it...

...yet I've heard references on this board that you're from the UK, so maybe not. The UK DVD is frankly, an offence. The Region 1 DVD is a lovely 2 disc set (even if it could have been better), but the Region 2 DVD is a 1 disc set chopping off hours of bonus features. If you have a multi region player, try to import the USA/Canada DVD. I would try to avoid the Region 2 DVD at all costs.

YES! This movie is better than words can describe! Go for the ME, the R2 release is awful, to say the least.

I would say yes, it's a good ans funny film, the mad tea party with the Mad Hatter and March Hare is pure fun! The Cheshire Cat is also a funny in a bizzare way character.

This thread is helping me to make my decision too! lol
I'm suprised it wasn't part of the sale where all the great 2-disc are going for $12 each! (Aladdin, Mary Poppins, POTC) Just my luck huh :( Any idea when it's being dis-continued????
(edit...) after reading the review, it sounds to me like hardly any of the extra features are the good, solid behind the scenes/production of the movie. it's more promotion and some of them sound as loosely related to "Alice" and the ESPN Classics does to the Cinderella PE. :( I know i like the movie, but would it REALLY be worth the $30?(average price plus tax of course....canadian tax that is :P )

I remember reading all the praise here for the movie and decided to buy it. While it didn't live up to the huge expectations a had (blame that on you guys  ), I enjoyed it a lot, and it's been my most watched movie this summer.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you get it. The Mad Tea Party is so random and that just makes it a hoot.

I think that it is well worth it. I picked up the Masterpiece Edition quite a while after it came out, and I really enjoyed it.

A little off the topic, but in the event you do not have it, the Sleeping Beauty 2-Disc Special Edition is AWESOME! I think that the bonus material really puts this one over the top!

I don't think it'll ever go out of print, unless you're referring to the GC one.

I hope you're all talking about the Masterpiece Edition now that I think about it. The Gold Collection one harldy ranks as high with the ME, but it's cover art is way better!

I think the ME was well worth the purchase. I greatly enjoyed the One Hour in Wonderland even though I had most of the segments in better quality on other DVDs, but you can't get that footage of Walt and his daughters and Kathryn Beaumont and Bobby Driscoll anywhere else and not to mention the segemtn of Song of the South!!!!

Well, if you had laserdisc and bootleg DVDs, SOTS is readily available.
