iPOD Discussion
After much thought and concentration, I decíde I'm not going to spend much more money on bad DVDs and instead buy an Apple iPOD. I really want to store my music collection on it and bring it with me everýwhere. Since like everyone in my school has one. I have a couple of questions about it though.
1. Should I get the regular iPOD or iPod mini (I´m mostlz listening to classical music. Got loads of classical music CDs
2. Where is a good place to buý it in stores, and has a good price (I don't wanna buy online)
Thank you

Re: IPOD Discussion
I'm not exactly answering your question, but I really think that if you're buying an IPod since everyone else has one, there's little point as you're simply not being yourself, as from what I see, you're just using money to try and achieve status, which from evidence in my life, I can say will not work. Don't mean to be rude, but that's my opinion.Alan wrote:Since like everyone in my school has one. I have a couple of questions about it though.
Also, you can try and find another MP3 player of some sort; I can imagine that it will work better and it'll be less expensive.

Hey, Alan's back. You haven't posted in like two and a half weeks, man.

Go for the regular sized ones. I'm not an IPOD expert, but I assume they have more memory.Alan wrote:1. Should I get the regular IPOD or IPod mini (I´m mostlz listening to classical music. Got loads of classical music CDs

Re: IPOD Discussion
Well, if you want something that's a right fit, I'd suggest ipod minis. I can't stand carrying the Ipod around so I switched to a mini. Well, Ipods aren't big, but if you compare them to the mini..then yea.Pasta67 wrote:Go for the regular sized ones. I'm not an IPOD expert, but I assume they have more memory.Alan wrote:1. But here:
Ipod Minis can carry that many songs...in case you're wondering.
Now, if you want to show off even more, go get an Ipod because everything sounds better in color. (Yea, like I never heard Pink or Purple can sound soo good, man!
Alan, is there a set price range?
Or does money not matter?

Re: IPOD Discussion
Pasta is correct the ipod mini has less memory. I recommend the regular size IPOD because it has more memory. I suggest you read up on them before buying one, that way you know which one is best for you. As to where to buy one, I can't help you there since I got mine directly from Apple.Pasta67 wrote: Go for the regular sized ones. I'm not an IPOD expert, but I assume they have more memory.

Here is a link to the ipod mini on apple's website: http://www.apple.com/ipodmini/
and here is a link to the larger ipod: http://www.apple.com/ipod/color/
EDIT: It looks like Krystal beat me to it. Anyway, I just remembered something else. If the only reason you would prefer the mini over the larger ipod is for the colored cases, you can get an iskin for the larger ones: http://www.iskin.com/evo2.html I bought one of those because I got tired of the plain white case. They are great because the protect the case from scratches and you can wash them when they get dirty.

orestes.
I've been debating on getting an iPod for the last two years and I still haven't decided what I want.
I want the 40GB version or the 60GB iPod photo but that's a good chunk of money.
On my computer right now I have almost 9,000 songs so the bigger and more memory the better for me but I've realized I would be happy with a mini for now. iPods will get better and better over time but for right now a mini would satisfy me since my current playlist of my favourite of songs hovers about 1GB.
Go with what you can afford. the more Gigs the better but don't let it break you. You can back stuff up on CDs or DVDs and be comfortable with an iPod mini of your absolute favourites.
If you are spending a summer backpacking in Europe and you need a lot of songs go with the best.
Go to Apple's site, ask people who have iPods and ask retailers and get a good idea what you are getting into. I know some people who make big purchases who don't know a thing when they make a purchase.

Re: IPOD Discussion
I'd say go for the mini if your going to have less than 1,000 songs. If you have thousands of songs, go for the regular ones.Alan wrote: 1. Should I get the regular IPOD or IPod mini (I´m mostlz listening to classical music. Got loads of classical music CDs

I bought my 20GB one at Costco so if you have a membership there, its cheaper. If you don't, go for Walmart or Best Buy.

Re: IPOD Discussion
True, but think about it, a thousand songs!! I mean come on, I can't even remember that many, I bet if I start thinking songs from 1 throgh the end, I'll start repeating songs when I'm up to 200! 1,000 songs is a lot, and you'll continually delete those you never hear.PublicEnemy#1 wrote:I'd say go for the mini if your going to have less than 1,000 songs. And those believe that regualr iPods are huge, they're nice, sleek, and small. iPod Minis look so tiny, they're impressive but don't make iPods look "huge" per se. Just look atthe dimensions of a regular iPod: 2.4 x 4.1 x .63 inches and it only weighs around 6 ounces.
I'd go for the regular iPod, cuz now they're all in color, and think about it, the most expensive iPod Mini costs $249 and it can only carry up to 1,500 songs. On the other side, you have a regualar iPod that with $50 more, you get it in color and you get a whopping 20GB of memory (5,000 songs!)
If you're a little tight on your budget, go for the Mini, is not bad. But if you could spend $299, you'll get the better deal. It's all up to you.
And yea, welcome back man. I missed reading your posts, lol.

I think if you really started counting songs you like, you'd reach 1000 much earlier than you'd think. I have over 4,000 songs on my crummy PC and would have many, many more if my hard drive could take it. I have lots of CDs that aren't even loaded up on here and as a result, are rarely listened to.

It really Depends on How Much Music U have
As of Right Now I have 327 songs on my ipod mini ..... I had my ipod mini for about 4 and a half months... so now I dont download as much music as I use to because I picked all the songs adnd CDs I wanted on there already. Even If Ur gonna have only 40 songs Id get an Ipod Shuffle.. There Pretty Cheap and There really small and there easier to carry. Like I sed earlier I have 327 songs and I have the old mini so I mite have a thousand around 2009.
Here Are My Reccomendations
If Ur Gonna have only around a 115 songs get the ipod shuffle that holds around 200. I belive they cost round 150.
If Ur Gonna have around 600 songs get the ipod mini that holds around 1000 songs not the 1500 one. The One Im talkin about is 200.
Another recomendation is that its summer so If U want a ipod get itunes first and see how many songs u have around there at the end Of August then buy what type of Ipod You want.
I belive Costco sells normal ones for around 270.
Hope This Helps

ipod minis
My mom thinks thst I should buy myself an ipod, since I almost never spend my money, and am very picky about how much I will pay for something. She says it would be better than lugging around my huge cd case and cd player whenever we go on a trip to cleveland or somewhere more than 40 minutes away, which is often.
Costco wants $189 for a mini, which, from what i've read on here, is about all i'd need, seeing as how I have just under 1,000 songs.
Now, is $189 a decent price? Or can you get it cheaper elsewhere?

Ipod Covers
Given the abudance of IPOD accesories and the fact that I received a white 60 gigabyte IPOD video for christmas, I'm having trouble deciding a case on the IPOD, since there are like millions of different cases. Does anyone have a good case that protects the entire IPOD (including screen) and thats not too expensive and doesn't break and is convenient? I don't want to buy a bad product
