Scientology Stars Sign Away Their Rights?

Scientology Stars Sign Away Their Rights? :o

Research into the Church Of Scientology has revealed some of Hollywood's most powerful stars may have signed documents giving up their right to psychiatric care and to see relatives. Celebrities including Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Juliette Lewis and Lisa Marie Presley could sign contracts banning the privileges as they move up the church's hierarchy, according to website Page Six. Documents relating to the bans have been uncovered by David Touretzky, a research professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, America, who has been studying the religion for six years. One such document specifies advanced training can only happen after members "forever (give) up (the) right to sue the church and its staff for any injury or damage suffered in any way connected with Scientology". Religious cult expert Rick Ross writes on his website, "It seems that Scientologist superstars like Tom Cruise, John Travolta and wealthy patrons such as Lisa Marie Presley may be signing away rights most citizens within free countries take for granted."

You know what...if you get that involved with a cult then I have no symparthy for whatever happens as a consequence. These are reasonably intelligent people (well, maybe not John Travolta .... Battlefield Earth?) and the fact that they have allowed themselves to be taken in by this group absolutely boggles the mind.

I agree with indiana, in part.

They are reasonably intelligent people (except for Tom Cruise). It was by an exercise of free will that they signed those alleged documents, and thus any rights they have 'lost' they have given up voluntarily.

Unless there is a freaky mind control thing going there we don't know about...

I mean there has to be.

I was once approached by a man in a pterodactyl (sp?) suit in the city soliciting for Scientology. He didn't even do the whol 'personality test' thing - he just said "Do you want to join the Church?"

I said Do I have to dress like that?

"You can dress any way you want! You can dress like Tom Cruise or Nicole Kidman if you want..."

He'd lost me by that stage.

I hate the way they are using their celebs to recruit more people as well.

If you want me to get started on why I hate religion, let's get in on right here!

Ahhhh... one of my favorite subjects! Yes, they do practice brainwashing. I read Dianetics and did much online research on the subject of Scientology.

Scientologists do not believe in psychiatry whatsoever. L. Ron Hubbard hated the profession and considered them to be quacks. That is why Scientologists are 'encouraged' not to go to them.

If the celebrities relatives are against Scientology, the Church would consider them to be 'Suppressive Persons' and would tell the members not to associate with them.

But think of all the advantages! Sure you may never be allowed to get psychiatric care or ever see your family again, but there is so much more you can discover! You can lose thousands and thousands of dollars, if you have that much money. If not, you can sign a BILLION year contract to work for Scientology. Then after ten years or so, and all that money and time, you can learn the truth behind the entire religion. That is, a guy named Xemu was the Supreme Ruler of our quadrant of the galaxy 75 million years ago and killed people who rebelled against his regime by bringing them to Teegeeack (now known as Earth) and chained them to volcanoes. Then he dropped H Bombs into them, killing them all. This is why the cover of Dianetics shows a volcano. Their spirits, called Thetans are still here on earth, but are in all of us. They cause all of our problems until we go to Scientology and use the E-Meter, a crude biofeedback device, and have them removed, thus becoming "Clear." I hope this was informative. Its certainly cheaper reading this than going through the Church to learn all this officially!

Ugh, I think that SW is much better than that! They already made one L. Ron Hubbard movie, Battlefield Earth! That was quite enough... no more!
