Re: Mermaids and things
I wouldn't like a new animated sequence inserted in TLM, because more than likely it would mean "touched up" new animation that would be touted as the original version the movie, sans the new animated sequence (such as for The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast). I just prefer a frame-by-frame restoration of TLM by Lowry Digital Images, who did the restorations for Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Bambi, rather than a new version of the film.Owlzindabarn wrote:And hopefully they can get in there and add a new song or scene. Now wouldn't that be nice?
I like Lady and the Tramp! Now, you have something to look forward since Little Mermaid will most likely be the next platnium after Lady and the Tramp. Just another excuse for me to buy more Disney DVDs and figure out where to put them! I'm running out of room. I'm pretty much swimming in DVDs now.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

Stitch: TOUCHING ME!

Stitch: TOUCHING ME!
Can't wait for this movie to come out!

I have no problem with Disney double dipping like this because theyreleased it and any of their animation double dips when DVDs were new and they were pretty much testing the waters. It's not like they release a barebones version of the movie and then release a better version a few months later unlike Fox for instance.Daelex wrote:I think disney does this on purpose to get more money out of you! they release the first one with a crappy transfer so it forces everyone to buy the next thx certified special/platinum edition... sounds like something they would do.

I wouldn't get too far ahead just yet, it's still a year from release! I would expect that we probably won't see anything for a good few months yet, and if we do it probably won't be concrete. Perhaps Cinderella will shed some light on it!Dan05 wrote:I haven't even seen Lady and the Tramp yet but does anyone know how the cover art will look?
I wouldn't be surprised if they used the same cover-art as they've used before but with some small changes, actually I don't think they come up with anything new. The spaghetti scene is so nice.ichabod wrote:I wouldn't get too far ahead just yet, it's still a year from release! I'm waiting for this more than Cinderella and Little Mermaid because it's still one of my favourites!

Sorry to bump this thread (it shall annoy Escapay, of course
), but has an official date been set yet for Lady and the Tramp yet? I looked on the DVD Movie Guide website's Disney page and it stated that Lady and the Tramp: Platinum Edition is coming on 3rd March 2006. Has a date really been set for release yet?
