My oh my, what a contradiction Iago. To me, this is no different than a few decades ago when when school libraries were banning classic liturature such as "Huckleberry Finn" for being politically incorrect.
Disney should definitely NOT censor their movies. Movies are an art form and need to be preserved as such. How about this? Why not market the "so-called" objectional material to adults instead of censoring and marketing to children?

What gives you the right to decide what I can and can't watch?
I missed his comments. So I guess he voted 'yes'. everyone has their opinions but I'm strongly disagreeing. I don't think they should edit out anything and my opinions are much like those of Leonard Maltin.
When I have kids there will be certain stuff I'll have them wait and see later on but I'm certainly not going to keep them in a bubble.
Racism is bad but you ave to teach and not ignore cause that will lead to a ton of problems.
Editing is BAD!! I want to decide for myself. People are way too stuck up these days, seeing two boobs will make them scorn and run to their stupid lawyer. What is wrong with breasts??? Kids have seen them form friggin DAY 1!!!!! And the cigarettes? I understand they are bad and all, but parents should be smart enough to tell their dumb kids that cigarettes=bad!
I am glad to see that so many people object Disney's censorship. However, since so many people object to it, why does Disney not act on it? I mean really, I think everyone would disagree with it!
I suppose Disney really wants to keep its squeaky clean image. I just don't know really! They do all sorts of irrational things! Like not admitting long haired guests to Disneyland in the 1960's.
I am glad people are so strongly opposed, but I doubt Disney will do much about it.
Having said that, the R2 Melody Time is uncensored so I guess anything is possible!
I just wish I knew what we could actually do to help our cause! Oh well!
It's sickening and tiring what they did to Make Mine Music and Melody Time on DVD - and pretty much pointless in my opinion. But if they think that's the way it has to be, they should also let the "serious" collectors market have them in the "Treasures" style with Leonard Maltin disclaimers or whatever and a high price to scare the "families" away.

Some part of me wants me to change it so everyone will like Disney, but these changes are just stupid! There is no need for these changes and people need to lighten up! Probably the same people who claimed Pirates of the Carribean(the ride) is politically incorrect for the pirates to chase the women so they put food in the women's arms! Stupid huh!

The supposed cursing in Clock Cleaners is patently not the case; but Disney have bowed down to the vocal but ignorant faction and messed with the soundtrack. Apparently it's no longer a valid defence to say "But you're wrong!" It's easier just to concede in order to shut the accusers up.
As things stand, my discovery that apparently all the versions of CLock Cleaners on DVD - at least, the R1 Treasure, the R2/4 Treasure, and the R4 Basil The Great Mouse Detective to my certain knowledge - has brought more swearing into this world than Donald Duck ever did. And if I ever attempt to insert the correct audio from a ratty old VHS copy I have, you'll probably hear some more...
"I hope we never lose sight of one thing - that this was all started by a little girl and a cat. And a rabbit."
There's nothing to agree with or about, it's wrong. Morally, ethically, virtuously, principly, totally and completely WRONG. Disney's cases of censorship have been dirty dealings with the devil, for which they should never be forgiven. These Disney people in question should be publically humiliated, flogged, and then burned at the stake.
but hey, ther´s a lot of soccer---o should I say sucker?--- moms
Who said you were 40? Ciobelli was referring to the votes in the poll which currently stands at 42 (40 odd) Disney fans not 40 year old Disney fans. Although I can see how you thought 'od' could be old with the missing d.

Well that could be going a bit far with the burning and all.

Disney has been listening to its fans and really has cut down on the censorship. Disney has released shorts in there Walt Disney Treasures label that no other studio would touch with a ten foot pole. They released the Spider-man 67 collection intact. I know time-warner would have defiantly censored 1 episode in the Spider-man 67 collection and say they did it unintentionally. Disney also has enough courage to release Pom Poko later this year.
My vote went to the NO. I mean I understand that there maybe somethings in the movies that can offended people but here is the beauty part of it all. If you dont like it Dont watch it. I mean come on get real there is no way a Company can make everyone 100% happy thats ridicules. If anything the movies from the past that have been censored can teach us a lot of things. How far our society has supposabley come from stero types. It can teach us culutre which and this my opinion we lack in Society today. I mean come on its just a Disney movie and if they dont see it there. They are going to see it somewhere else. Get over it and move on with life. Okay I am don lol .
